Early Predictions

Went to Lakeside for the first time last year, & will never go back unless Panthers race them in the play offs. As we are now in a different league, that looks unlikely. Terrible track, & no overtaking at all.

Can't agree with that proud panther. Lakeside produces decent racing. In my visits there I have seen excellent racing. Furthermore, to watch class riders totally master the tight turns is a pleasure to watch. Leigh Adams was simply majestic to watch at Lakeside. I would imagine Peter Karlsson is similar.

I have been brought up on big tracks, and certainly in the 70's there were plenty of bigger tracks around. The smaller tracks were much rarer. However, that's what makes the EL so different with their unique shapes and sizes. Monmore Green is another smaller track that serves up terrific racing. Variety is the spice of life!

Fair enough. I think I caught the EOES on a poor night once (couple of seasons ago against Lakeside) guess all tracks have them! Certainly Blunsdon has them.

I think that sums it up. Lakeside -v-Peterboro matches are nearly always a bit naff whether they are at Lakeside or EOES, it just seems each team can rarely manage the others track. On the hand when Swindon come to Lakeside they are nearly always good matches. Wolves are nearly always a good side to watch and quite often Poole, especially Darcy are good entertainment.

I always look forward to my visits to the EOES. Superb track, great racing. Mind you, there is a certain technique (as in all tracks I guess) to ride it. Hans Andersen used to get incredible drive off the inside line with almost all of his front wheel over the white line and on the grass. Visiting riders would not naturally do this.

Similarly more recently, both Buzz and Norbert used amazing skills to cut back on the third and fourth bends and find that crucial bit of speed going back into the first bend.

Hope to visit again in 2014. The local derby against Ipswich might be a tasty one!

I don't think anyone who has seen him there would disagree with that comment. Leigh Adams at his best was pretty hot stuff at Lakeside but Darcy probably rides the track at least as well.

Was a very close thing though, last meeting decider!

If I recall it was decided on a very home bias, Eastbourne track. but as you say very close, the closest we've ever been.

yes very close, but the good trio you have this season are no match for the other trio, granted you should go close though

Don't know who you are referring to, but I feel Lynn's top trio are equal to any that been announced so far. Until the race format has been published its hard to judge what is the best makeup of a team, be it preference to heat leader, 2nd strings or reserves. only then will people be able to judge better.

Looking at the Lynn line-up I believe our top 3 riders and reserves are equal to any team in the league. There are two or three teams that have better 2nd strings than us to start with, but the outcome of the league will be decided on who performs better as the season unfolds. Those who have seen these youngsters ride, believe they will make big strides and that's all we can hope for.....

Should be exciting watching it all unfold though........

Eastbourne rode several away meetings at advantageous points of the season too, ie visiting tracks when sides had injuries etc. But thats the way the cookie crumbles, was still one hell of a season.
