Tom P did it that night too, pretty sure it finished 34-58 to the Knights.

Great night to be a Lynn supporter :D

Then the following week rode at home to Poole in what was Shane Parkers last meeting as he was dropped for Peter Nahlin. Peter Nahlin got injured in his first meeting vs Peterborough the following week (after a crash with Nigel Sadler) and had to be replaced by John Cook who was in his mid-40s by then. Ultimatly thats what cost Lynn, dropping Shane who was average 6.5 and bringing in John Cook who got about 5.

We were at the Lynn/Poole meeting and after his last ride in heat 10 Shane sat on the infield on the first turning watching the meeting cheering on the Lynn riders but looking like his World had just come crumbling down around him and when he was interviewed was clearly upset at being dropped and I don't mean annoyed with the management sort of upset but upset he was leaving Lynn.

You could argue it would never have gone down to a last-meeting decider without Cook, who scored well in the toughie at WV2 (copyright TNT) and he was excellent at Poole on the Friday night to help set-up the meeting at Eastbourne the following night.

Granted Cook struggled for the first few meetings, but when he got his machinery over (from Sweden?) he was superb - apart from at Eastbourne!

Lynn's troubles were they had dropped too many points away from home mid-season, hence the reason for switch in the first place.

SKY certainly seemed to enjoy the league title going to the end, and IIRC, the play-offs came in shortly thereafter much to the dismay of The White Knight et al.

You can't knock us for talking about it, It was the nearest we ever came to winning the league.

Yes, the play off came in the very next tear I think

Eastbourne topped the league again but lost to Wolves in the play off final

Anyway on topic

Top four (in no particular order) will be

Poole

Eastbourne

Coventry

Kings Lynn

One could talk long and hard about Cookie at Eastbourne that night. I am sure all will be revealed one day. It amazes me how 13 years later that season is still talked about. But we were conned that night.

wolves may well surprise me, but with away format, woffy going from ht5 to ht 11, looks an open goal to do the damge

Always used to hurt Swindon when we had Leigh Adams & it should be like the old days when the team manager could change the racing line up for each meeting.

Tbh i think we will do ok,but can understand why a lot of posters can see us as easy fodder.

Lets be honest its what we are doing in September that matters. I can see the reasons too as Pawlicki has an awful lot to live up to.

Leicester to surprise everyone and romp away with the EL Title at first attempt :D

Well we all start equal so good luck!?

I hope Leicester have a good first season and the club and supporters move on having enjoyed the experience. We really need to look after the teams in the top flight to protect British speedway for the future.

When is the 'Program of heats' format likely to be released. These are so important into the relevance of predictions. Has a date been intimated yet.?
