manchesterpaul
A really specific thread regarding UK TV coverage of Swedish speedway as opposed to general discussion of the racing season. I notice that the Premier Sports website has removed all reference to speedway recently. It's no longer under the 'motorsports' tab or indeed under the 'other' tab. I do hope this isn't an ominous sign and that it means they've ditched the Swedish speedway It's a website that has often left legacy pages in situ and/or non updated pages but clearly someone has actively removed the multiple speedway pages and links. We've been spoilt rotten with the super entertainment that has been on offer over recent seasons. It's not just the fear of losing the coverage but even changing it to another provider would be bad news in my eyes. Whilst i'll still maintain my subscription because of their wonderfully extensive live broadcasting of NASCAR (and intermittent Mixed Martial Arts) i'd imagine most speedway fans who subscribe do so only for the speedway and will hot foot with their wallets and purses out of it. One final constructive point i'd like to make..... WAAAAAAAAH!
Brummie Kev
Perhaps it may be screened on the Speedwaytv.tv website like the Polish Playoffs were, would be such a shame to lose Swedish Speedway from our screens.
P T Preece
Ive really enjoyed it over the last couple of seasons, Dave Goddard is fantastic as well, none of this over excitment you get with the sky boys, when nothing is happening. Perhaps a few e-mails from brit supporters to Premier sports would help.
racers and royals
Maybe BT sport have out-bid them for the rights.
manchesterpaul
An actual 'bidding war' over speedway! Cool we are going up in the world lol.
Stu_H
Eurosport have just announced their 2014 Programme Guide, and it says they have Swedish Elite League coverage as well as the European Championships. No mention of SGP though..... http://2014tvguide.eurosport.com/#/0 I should mention, before getting shot down in flames, that this doesn't say British Eurosport but they posted it on their Facebook page. The Pedaler
Too bad that GoSpeed have the rights to Polish League racing, just to block it from being shown, and deflecting from...well...whatever it is that they seek to protect. Yeah i just came here to post after seeing mention on Sportowefakty; "On Wednesday, news portal reported that Eurosport will broadcast matches of the Swedish league. So far, representatives of the stations do not confirm these reports, but they should soon see the light of day. According to our information, that in each turn Elitserien TV show two meetings. Moreover, aired on Eurosport 2 will broadcast speedway magazine devoted entirely to struggle in the top division in Sweden." Now whether that means we'll get in on the British version of Eurosport remains to be seen, if not will we likely be deprived of coverage on Premier Sports too Awwww i loved watching the Swedish Speedway. uk_martin
...Now whether that means we'll get in on the British version of Eurosport remains to be seen, if not will we likely be deprived of coverage on Premier Sports too OR - we might find an increase in the number of motorised satellite installations amongst speedway fans, and decoders that show the foreign versions of Eurosport (and all the Polish TV stations too, come to that) - all in wonderful HD! michaelcroucher
Im surprised more people haven’t already gone over to motorised satellite. I have bt box at home with British eurosport as well as motorised satellite with NC+. Its so much cheaper than having sky and Premier sports. I know that Premier sports are really good in what they do and I really don’t want them to lose the speedway for fans but if people really want to see the speedway with Swedish League as well as SGP, SWC, and other events that eurosport are showing as well as getting polish league then this is the way forward. I didn’t see elite league last year on TV as I don’t have sky but I didn’t even miss it. I don’t want to upset anyone but if you really want to see the Swedish and Polish league then get a motorised satellite and save money. You can even record the speedway and go and watch a league match in the UK as you will be saving money not having sky and Premier sports. The Pedaler
Im surprised more people haven’t already gone over to motorised satellite... The answer lies with the live streams on t'internet and speedway fans reluctance to pay a penny more than they have to, to watch anything. peatbog
I have been watching Swedish Speedway for a number of years with a motorised satellite system, they put out 2 feeds, 1 Swedish and the other has just track sounds, this is the one I watch. As they are not encrypted it is legal to use the feeds.
michaelcroucher
if you buy NC+ then you will get Orange Sport. They show Swedish Speedway Live every week when the season is on.

Not in 2014-Eurosport (Poland plus other mainland Europe areas) have the rights.

Sorry roacers and royals your right i forgot that Eurosport has the rights. Anyway you can still buy NC+ and have eurosport for the speedway. Looks like eurosport are all out for speedway at the mo. racers and royals
Do you know if that includes British Eurosport? That`s a good question that I don`t know the answer too-I just have a sneaky feeling that BT Sport might have dipped their toes into the water with the UK rights to the Swedish league.. The Pedaler
For as long as GoSpeed International Ltd don't buy up the rights, like they have with Polish speedway, there is hope for us all. If GoSpeed get the rights, it'll have been done just to block it from the eyes of the British public, just as they have with Polish speedway, in another cynical move to ration out only that speedway that they approve of...which will be the British Diluted League ONLY. eric i
Taken from the GoSpeed website 'Formed in the year 2000 the Polish Extraliga is arguably now the toughest speedway league in the World and certainly the most popular in terms of live audiences. The fervour in which fans support their teams is a sight to behold with speedway being the most popular sport in the country. GSI hold the International Media rights for this league and are looking to propel this property onto the world stage over the next few years.' Is this last bit just rubbish? Do they just buy rights to stop others showing it?
