Objects Of Ridicule ?

Because i am right.

I am cock sure that 8 is more than 3. My 2 year old niece knows that.

I assume you are claiming it didn't make any difference as you were a poor team who was going to lose anyway. So you replaced your no 7 in heat 8, who was likely to score zero. In comes Lawson and wins. You have gained 3 from his win, plus the opposition has scored 2 less. Your no 2 has scored 1 less. Gain equals 4 pts.

However now, Lawson could not even go in heat 8. He would have to take on better riders in a heat of his own, as well as having to be 10 behind, not 6. The maximum he could gain if he won the race is 3 pts. The opposition lose none.

So your memory is irrelevant, the old rule effected matches more and on a more frequent basis. Once again that is stone cold FACT, not opinion.

Thanks for that , must be difficult for you having to deal with a lower level of intelligence on a daily basis on here

Most people on here are quite intelligent and understand basic maths.

There are others who initially hadn't considered whether the old one was fairer previously, but when it was explained realised it was so.

Then there is another very very small group, used to consist of 1, perhaps there are 2 now, who simply get in a huff. Very sad.

There can be no doubt that more matches were won because of the used of a tac sub in the old days for the simple fact you only had be 6 points behind ...there be no doubt that it changed the outcome of more matches .

Makes you resorting to petty comments even worse then doesn't it really.

Tis a pity.

Tis indeed , actually i should really apologise . I don't really give a toss whether the old taccy sub or the present t/r was more or less effective , i just find the whole talking down to posters on here a bit irritating . As in life , some will be more clued up on things than others , that state of affairs should not be used as a stick to beat folk with .

I doubt anyone gives a toss that you dont give a toss.

Joining a debate is a bit pointless if you have nothing to contribute isn't it ? just to say you don't give a toss!!

As it happens we almost all agree with Sidney in that we prefer the old tac sub ride but he keeps throwing a hissy fit when some basic maths are pointed out. It isn't talking down to someone to correct something that is clearly wrong. If he would just read what people are trying to tell him instead of going off on one throwing insults around left right and centre then he would see what a fool he has been making of himself.

All that said I expect another "you dont know how to debate" "you are always right" type rant. Maybe even a brief resume of my drinking habits like the one we got about orion!!!!

But you haven't been debating Oldace. You have just been telling people they are wrong and haven't thought out their point. Perhaps you need a lesson in mass-debating? Perhaps not, I am sure you are pretty good at that!

That's because they haven't got a point. They were wrong, its not up for debate!

Ok then just for you, lets debate my (and others) point that 3 is less than 8.

I have done a few experiments and they all seem to concur with my "opinion" that it is indeed so. I put 3 counters on 1 side of my desk and 8 on the other and the side with 8 seemed to have more counters.

I tried it with coins and it was the same so I have to assume it is the same with race points. Of course I am willing to listen to a conclusive argument that 8 is less than three but I wont hold my breath

We could try Paulco's idea for a debate by wading in with "I dont give a toss" on the subject in hand but that doesn't really seem like the best use of our time does it?

What point ? when asked why the only answer is because we say so ...no logic to back it up .

Formula 1 just announced double points for the last GP of 2014 !!!!!!!!! Empty stadiums all season then

What sport can end all go and watch now and not be ridiculed, footballers throwing matches, cricket has so many formats and players playing for different teams in different countries, darts? Oh no, 2 World championships in that one! And now F1 has double points to try and stop Vettel winning yet again. Maybe we aren't so bad after all

Don't forget Nascar has a nigh on 40 race season (a few less, not sure of exact number).. from which with 10 races to go they reset everything and only the top 10 drivers (and others within a certain amount of pts) can win the Championship. The other 30 odd drivers are all still in the race, but can't win.
