greyhoundp
I think what he means Neil, is or those that have been around longer than Mildenhall, its the 70,s/80,s all over again, and for those of us who can go back to the sixties, we can remember when Cradley were given everyone elses cast offs, and invariably finished bottom of the league, and we still were one of the best supported clubs even then. I dont buy into this trying to stop us winning the League stuff, and i certainly DONT want to keep seeing 60 point home wins, the signing of Brady Kurtz would almost have guaranteed that. So now we can go out and sign a promising youngster, who we could have as our own asset. Im still dissapointed to see us release Dan Greenwood, and possibly keep Gareth Isherwood, Dan is more than 1 point average better than Gareth, and lives in Cradley, but i guess being local doesnt count for much these days. Most supporters want to see us develop our own riders, yes Steve Worrall is a good signing, but back this up with another Heat Leader such as Starkey, 2 x 3 pointers Nathan and Cleggy, then push for the League in 2015, with OUR assets. Try a different strategy in 2014, not the same cheque book Speedway we have seen until now, or if it needs to be cheque book Speedway, then sign the best 15/16 year olds, and develop them as our own. villiers210
Whether Brady Kurtz should / should not be allowed to race in NL under the patriality ruling is one debate. Whether he is too good to be able to race NL is yet another debate. However, what is blatantly obvious, is yet again, the speedway authorities make themselves look totally amateurish by moving the goal posts to suit their own purpose. From the Cradley fans I have spoken to, it's not the fact that young Brady isn't allowed to ride for us that has caused their anger - it was the way the authorities handled the matter. If you are going to alter existing rules, or apply different parameters for specific situations, don't wait for the situation to arise before doing so - it smacks of skulduggery and makes our sport look foolish. phillipsr
No goal posts have been moved with regards to NL!!!? Brady rode in the top league In Denmark. That means he should have a 7pt average over here. Its always been the rule what is a farce is that he's somehow on a
Neil H
Greyhoundp, the way your promotion are heading then you'd better get ready for guaranteed big home wins every week. I think your support will stand up and not drift away as it did at Glasgow some years ago when they steam-rollered the PL two years running.
pete cc
Not sure why all the bitchin, if he ain't british & ain't going to ride as british he can't ride in the NL. end of, move on !
berniev123
I agree with pete cc as Brady is as Aussie as Ayres Rock, kangaroos, Bathhurst & boomerangs!!!! He has always said that he was an Aussie and not a Brit and this has been known for ages! One good thing will come of it though NOBODY in the NL can have him at reserve/team in 2014 and I pity Somerset because they must be at least 2 points over the PL Team Building Average.....may be more! I also like to look forward & not back, yes things that was won by cradley in the past should not be forgotten but, that was then this is now. Lets all look to the future and enjoy our great sport & move forward together for a change.

Neil H
I think it's called 'vested interest'. Until things are really desperate, they won't change. During it's existence the NL (Conference, Div 3, Amateur League) has always been an afterthought. I know that the league hasn't helped itself at times but clubs with different agenda's means things will never be sorted. Riders will ride for certain teams and not others - some drive past their nearest track to get to their 'home' track.

The powers that be normaly can not see any further than their own pit gate.
Gosa78
I'd say we will see Matt Williamson and Danny Phillips in heathens colours in 2014 - other suggestions? Edited December 22, 2013 by Gosa
Heathen1984
Can't see them having both of them. I'd like to see Phillips but rumours are that's it's Williamson. They will want greaves at reserve I think.
greyhoundp
Im still hoping for Michael Neale, won the 500cc youth champs beating Reece Downes, Josh Bailey and our own Nathan Greaves, also scored some useful points when he guested against us at Monmore, and having Philips alongside him would do for me. To have the Heathens tracking Cleggy, Greaves, Philips, and Neale. would give me great pleasure to watch those four progress in there career at Cradley, added to Worall, Perry and Starkie, that would do for me. Gosa78
Sorry meant to say either Phillips or Williamson! Luke priest and Allott could well end up in heathers colours only because riders are slowly running out - you'd think the management team would just announce the team instead of dragging it out for media purpose. Yeah, every year it pisses me off, to have this annual dragging out of Cradleys signings, this constant drip feeding and hints, like we are in talks with Nathan, and Tom, yeah we have known that since the end of the season, we probably have all 7 signed up by now. Last year i had the word Starkie was signed up weeks before it was announced.
morganbike
To drop Dan so early proves your point. The team has been sorted for ages. They just haggle about money and equipment after that.
Gosa78
It's just media stunt and yes they know the team it would be so much better to annouce on a night at liberal club or somewhere else!
berniev123
It does not actually bother me how the team is released as long as the 7 they choose gel & most of them improve their starting average in 2014. I forgot to say...stay safe as well & give their all for the green & white in 2014. Once A Heathen, Always A Heathen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
