Havvy's Farewell - Poole Speedway - Friday 21st March 2014

Recommended Posts

Can't believe Shovlar is moaning about what fans from what club attended! As said the meeting was held on the wrong night at the wrong location. Of course Redcar fans and Bradford fans will try to go but to expect others to travel on a Friday night to the south coast is a bit much. I'm going to Risagers testimonial tonight which is an hour from home and on a Saturday so much easier to go to. Shame about the weather for Havvy maybe he should have changed the date! Also see shovvy having another pop at Cook but you would love him in your team!

Agree. Coventry fans had NL meeting last night and then ERC tomorrow.

If I was going to go to a testimonial or farewell meeting if wouldnt have been Havvy's anyway. It would have been for JK or Morton who did more for Coventry

Just as well the many fans sporting the colours of Redcar, Bradford, Newcastle, Peterborough, Lakeside, and (even) Eastbourne felt they wanted to make the effort then!!

Great to see them all there in a big (but very cold and damp) crowd.

Funny how the Poole troll says it was a wrong night at the wrong track, yet fans from as far afield as Redcar (lots of them) and Newcastle made the trip down and joined the very large crowd. Where the crowd would have been bigger than last night I have no idea. Absolutely nowhere is my opinion and the opinion of Havvy as well.

Everything was spot on except the shower half way through.

Pirate fans will be thrilled with the first proper showing of young Millik. Very fast, very stylish and Matt has unearthed another very bright talent. Wont take him long to rattle in some very big scores for Poole at Wimborne Road.

EVERYONE knew about Milik!

And clearly he is on a false assessed average, but then you would be happy with that.

Then why didn't other clubs go for him? It came as a surprise to most people on here when he was announced. Matt Ford clearly the best in the business leaving the rest in his wake.

How can he be on a falsely assessed average if he has never ridden in the UK before..........that kid is going to be the next big thing trust me..............

Great meeting apart from the weather.............and Cookie taking out the tapes pole on the centre green was so funny...........he should have been pulled up every heat he rode in not just heat 7 and the semi he broke the tapes in for jumping the start................

No one is disputing the good business Ford did to get him here. That is not the question. His assessed average most certainly is tho.

Of course he is on a false ASSESSED average. The BSPA made moves the previous season to cut out these ridiculous low assessed 4 point averages for the next best big thing.

Anyone with any clue about Speedway knows he he is a big talent. Only Poole fans seem to think he is on the correct assessed average, surprisingly.

He is easily an assessed 5 , that would have been fair for ANY TEAM signing him.

How can he be an assesed five if he hasn't got a top flight average in any major league? His four average is completely correct. No ifs, buts or maybe's.

The BSPA cant give a rider a higher average just because they "think" he might do better. Facts state a 4. And thats what he is on. No huffing and puffing will change that. Its like saying Lambert at KL will do better than his average so he should be put on a 5.

There are plenty iffs. Milik is on a steal of an average. You would be the first to complain if any other team signed him on a 4.

The facts are that ALL new riders should be on an assessed 5. 4 is way to low.

And NO, that isn't because Poole have signed him, not that it will stop you putting in some snide `anti Poole` comment as per.

The sooner the assessed averages are changed to 5, the better. And fairer for all.

Whatever average he is on - its still 'fair for all'!! Its just that Matt Ford got there first -AGAIN!!! Leading where others (try to) follow!!! :D

Gary Havelock Poole Legend.

dear oh dear yet again you embarrass yourself, do you know nothing about speedway fans!

sure those who are fans of Havvy through his career will be there wherever they are from and lets face it he is from the north so you would expext Redcar Newcastle and Bradford fans to be there, or are you to thick to get that.

Eastbourne isnt exactly far from Poole and as i have said if this meeting was at Peterborough or Coventry or Kings Lynn i would have gone.

The fact is it is a 4 hour drive for me on a friday night taking a day off work for a rider im not massively bothered about. Im sure there are many like myself in the same position.

I went to Mark Lorams at Poole as we have followwed and sponsored him since he was 14 at Hackney and even if that meeting was at Berwick i would have gone.

You are so blinkered saying that people didnt go because they arent Havvy fans. im sure it was agreat night and as i say if it was easier for me i would have gone.

Of course true Havvy fans will go and maybe the more affluent people around the country that dont need to worry bout taking time off work as well.

For me im going Risagers tonight as it is local and then the ELC tomorrow.

Put it this way if the ELC was Friday at Poole and Havvys was Sunday at Coventry i would have gone to Havvys but you keep stirring!

Then why didn't other clubs go for him? It came as a surprise to most people on here when he was announced. Matt Ford clearly the best in the business leaving the rest in his wake.

Do you understand English or is it that hard for you to understand what people say!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt Ford did a greta bit of business getting him on a 4. Totally in the rules no foul play - FACT

Milik should not be a 4 that is to low for a rider of his ability and the system needs changing -FACT

Now hope you understand
