Gemini
Really? I havent a clue either. As I havent been out of the country since 2003 I guess that makes me a troll - are they those cute things you used to have on the end of your pencils at school? I don't know either but I would imagine being Coventry's team manager would be his only job, unless he's employed by his dad, because it's a pretty time consuming thing in the speedway season and not many employers would allow all that time off would they? A ORLOV
Apologies if someone already replied, but with work and stuff i've lost track on this thread...does Havelock actually work these days or is he on the sick ? Genuine question. I don't know either but I would imagine being Coventry's team manager would be his only job, unless he's employed by his dad, because it's a pretty time consuming thing in the speedway season and not many employers would allow all that time off would they? I heard that during the winter he teaches english to foreign students . Edited February 6, 2014 by A ORLOV

Is it really all that time consuming? You turn up to a meeting 60-90 mins before, and leave at the end. It's no more time consuming than it is for a fan going to every meeting home and away during the season.. are they unable to hold down a job? I've certainly done it! ColinMills
lets face it, if these managers are going around un-paid, its pretty hard to argue its a tough job, and a job that holds great responsibility..riders turn up, race, pack up, fly off, theres no team bonding, most tracks cant even practice.. a manager can only make change at certain times, which 9 out of 10 of us could do with ease..if you take simmo at foxhall, what say did he have?..his leaving speech said volumes, even though he wouldn't explain in full (for some reason)!..he don't have the power to sign a rider, buy a rider, its done by the promotion, the paid ones! John Leslie
Hence my question i guess. Despite Gavan's pathetic response, i'm still none the wiser. I don't know what he does either. I have a feeling that he has some kind of family business with his father, but I haven't a clue what it is.
Woz01
Havvys other job seems to be pressing the retweet button, he is quite good at it!!
Gemini
I know a person 'tweets' on Twitter but what on earth is a 'retweet'? Just recycling the same comment? Good job I don't bother with Twitter then because repetitions would drive me mad. Imagine what it would be like on here with members saying the same thing over and over again. We just don't do it do we? .....BWitcher......Is it really all that time consuming? You turn up to a meeting 60-90 mins before, and leave at the end. I suppose it can be done if the person uses the time off as part of their holiday entitlement. Not for me though 'cos if I was going to see a Poole v Coventry meeting I'd want to stay for the week after travelling all that way. In the past I have regularly gone to Bees away meetings at Oxford, Peterborough and Wolverhampton on my own, with the dog for company, but 70 miles to Cowley has about been my limit. egg
if you can find the sentence that says he shouldnt have one then go ahead. what i have said is that people find it strange that people have a testimonial and a farewell meeting. I know for a fact Mark Loram never had a testimonial Its pretty irrelevent anyway because this meeting is at Poole which coupled with it being held on a Friday for some reason means its not exactly financially viable. I would be going for the racing not really Havvys biggest fan, bit up himself, moans a lot, stuck 2 fingers up to his country on numerous occasions, the drugs thing, mean that ive never took to him. Though wouldnt wish injury on any rider So there we have it ,In your own words !!! Time to get down from the soap box and stop banging the drum I dont recall him ever sticking two fingers up ,as you put it ,to his country as most people know he is very patriotic Edited February 7, 2014 by egg

Typical moronic post yet again So there we have it ,In your own words !!! Steve Shovlar
If you are not Havvys biggest fan what on earth are you doing on a thread CONCERNING his farewell meeting? People who have no interest in this meeting tend not to post, so we can only gather that the reason you are on this thread is simply to troll. Lets face it bar one or two others you are basically on your own in your opinion. Most are looking forward to being at Poole on this night to support who in his time was one of this countries best ever speedway riders.

If you ever bothered to read what people write you will see that I haven't begrudged him his meeting just the location and date is awkward to get to for a lot of people outside Poole surely that's a valid comment. I'm not his biggest supporter never have been and there are a lot like me so why you feel the need to single me out just shows your true colours. For the people that go I hope it's a good nights entertainment for them. I'm so sorry I don't like all the same riders you do

Steve Shovlar
by troll i was talking about the Shovlar Says the person who has posted more on this thread than anyone else, and has admitted he dislikes Havelock and has no interest in attending the meeting anyway. Why post on a thread when you have no interest? If the reason is , "because I can", then it is pathetic. I for instance wouldn't post on an Ipswich thread even though I could. There is no interest for me to. One can only assume Gavans hatred of all things Poole now include ex Poole riders and the fact the meeting is going to take place at the home of the Champions. As egg has said, Gavan only needs to look in the mirror.

As egg has said, Gavan only needs to look in the mirror Get a grip will you!! This is a speedway forum its about debate and open to opinion. I have an interest in the sport as a whole, unlike yourself who is blinkered on his own club. I will comment on this thread if i want to same as everyone else has. If you care to read what i wrote which is obviously beyond you then you will see that i have said 1. I dont begrudge any rider a meeting 2. Havvy isnt my favourite rider but apparantly thats a crime. 3. The date and geography of the meeting means i couldnt go if i wanted to. If this was held nearer my home or even at Poole on a weekend i might have made the effort. Now if you cant get it into that blinkered head of yours that this has nothing to do with Poole speedway. The problem with yourself is you are so wrapped up in having a pop at people and trolling the crap you write y=that you actually fail to see what others write. The uproar over the dates clashing is a Speedway topic it means we can all have an opinion on it and we are entitled to voice that opinion. I never said i didnt have an interest in the meeting but then again you do twist everything for your own agenda. As i said if it was closer to me and not on a ridiculous Friday evening i may have gone. And if you care to read my post i have said i hope its a good evening with good racing yet you choose to ignore that. God my hatred of Poole is extreme that i hate ex riders shows how much of a tool you are. My family sponsored Mark Loram and we made the effort to go to his farewell but i dont hold Havelock in the same regard as Loram. Im sure there are people who wouldnt go to Marks but would to Havvys. Its called personal choice if you can get that I must remember to just post on my own clubs pages didnt realise that was the forum rules.
