Bbc Sports Personality Of The Year

Recommended Posts

Was flicking the sports channels last night and when I went on BT Sport to check the score of the Stenhousemuir/Rangers match obviously there was no football to watch as the game was off. Instead they had a studio based programme in which they were introducing a poll for the "Minority Sports Person of the Year". One of the 5 nominations was a certain "Tea" Woffinden.

Couldn't see any reference to the poll on their web site last night, but they said the result will be announced next weekend.

Might be suitable for all on this thread who felt miffed by the Beeb's snubbing of our sport.

Apologies if already posted elsewhere - but I couldn't see anything.

Speedway now a minority sport? How things have changed since I first went and it rated second only to football in attendances and national press coverage.

What?

How many people who follow speedway know of this boycott and are likely to follow the recommendation?

Why?

I just wondered how many thousands would follow the boycott advice. It needs that sort of down count in previous year's viewing figures at cause an upset at the BBC.A dozen or so boycotters is unlikely to be noticed at the BBC.

Just think how you will be kicking yourself if he is mentioned as one our other world champions and gets a 10 second clip shown.....oh and then your workmates start talking about it tomorrow and you said you boycotted it!!!!!Who's going to be looking a right plonker in their wulfsport jacket?

Ok.I meant a bit more than usual

Watching BBC Sports thingy for three hours will be as much as a waste of time as watching a film as a youngster thinking they'd be a bit of nakedness from a female in it.

I did it a few times, wasted many a night when I could have been out with the lasses... and am doing much of the same thing these days, 35 years on... thanks to the t'interent, my night isn't wasted these days. No need for female company with this superfast broadband.

Advice: A wasted night for speedway fans of any vintage will be deciding to spend the evening watching all the gloss, the dross of BBC SPORTY and presenters/personalities saying things only they think are funny... a bit spine curling in my opinion. We aren't welcome in their little gathering.

You may not hear me for the rest of the night... and, no, I won't be watching SPOTY.

I have superfast broadband.

Add my vote to it.

I suppose this is what they call "disregarding an alternative voice" in a debate?
