T.N.T.
It will also depend on the score at the time, and who's on form There are only SIX races where a Tactical Ride can be used and in those heats the #3 away rider appears in THREE of which two are against second strings, so there is a good chance they will be used more than the rest of the team. For a team like Birmingham or Leicester, the away #4 also appears in THREE of these races including one race that includes two draft riders. So away from home the #3 could be the key figure but that does mean his programmed rides are finished by heat 11 so it may IMHO be better for the visiting teams second best rider to be at #3 and the top rider at #5 as they have the toughest rides. Will be interesting to see where the teams with an out and out top rider place them in the team especially when the #1 rider doesn't appear again until heat 11 after heat 6 which could be too late to make a tactical move Heat 5: 15v34 Heat 6: 34v15 Heat 7: 27v46 Heat 8: 34v23 Heat 9: 67v67 Heat 10: 12v35 Heat 11: 35v14 Edited March 10, 2014 by T.N.T. For example id like to see the aces line up home and away:1. Nicholls 2. Palm toft 3. Cook 4. Worrall 5. Zagar. The number 4 slot is one I can see with definite potential to get a tac ride in heat 7 away from home.
Bagpuss
Agree, I'd line Lynn up like this: 1 Schlein 2 Porsing 3 Bjerre 4 Lambert 5 Iversen 6 Rose 7 Kerr Edited March 11, 2014 by Bagpuss
Tsunami
Is this 'managing' or is it 'manipulation'? Yes, it is Team Managing. Something that many have longed the return of so Team Managers can pit themselves against each other. You really are cynical.
The White Knight
Yes, it is Team Managing. Something that many have longed the return of so Team Managers can pit themselves against each other. You really are cynical. Who - me. Yes - you are right - I am cynical. Experience has taught me that. The Sport of Speedway isn't what it once was, so I question things. If that makes me a cynic - then so be it. I've never been 'it is all for the good of the Sport' - when I see things I think are wrong - I say so. At least you know where I stand. So cynical - yes, honest - yes. You may not like my opinions but - they are honest and heart felt. By the way Dave - I am not claiming to be always right because I am not.

Yes but, being a cynic all the time devalues your judgment, especially when things announced are good and/right to do. Try being neutral until you can take an informed judgement.

TwoMinuteWarning
Young riders improve when they ride against, and hopefully eventually beat, riders who are better than themselves. But half of the reserves rides will NOT be against better riders, but against each other --- something which they already do frequently in the lower leagues in which they race. If you genuinely want riders to improve, then in each of their races they should be opposing at least one second-string or heat-leader. What we have now is a 13-heat EL match, and a 2-heat reserve match Just my opinion.

I don't agree with that one bit, these guys will be racing their equivalent of the old heats 13 & 15 every heat every meeting. This is already a big enough jump for these guys at 6 & 7having 2 heats against the 2nd strings. The 2nd string list consists of Adam Skornicki Daniel Nermark Richie Worrall Michael Palm Toft Ryan Fisher Kyle Howarth Kim Nilsson Mikkel Michelsen Nicklas Posing Robert Lambert Mikkel Bech Richard Lawson Peter Ljung Simon Stead Josh Grajczonek Vaclav milik Simon Gustafsson Nicolai Klindt Ricky Wells Jacob Thorssell I'm a believer in the new system and can't wait to see how it develops

INCOGNITO
Surprised to hear that Wolverhampton are keeping Tai Woffinden at number one which means Pawlicki or Proctor will be at the tough number five position

21st century heathen
The thinking for Wolves could be to protect Piotr from the pressure and expectation of having to go out and win heat 1, particularly at home as it's not really going to be home track for him this season when you consider the more experienced visitors he may face (depending on others' line-ups). waiheke1
Proctor at 5 then surely. In some ways it makes sense to ride a weak heat leader there, especially away from home.
