When Will The New Race Format Be Out & How Can Teams Name Riders When They Don't Know It?

Recommended Posts

COSTS perhaps.

So those teams that have gone down the top heavy route can afford to have 3 top riders in?? I'm sure NKI and Bjerre are on good money at Lynn this season or they wouldn't have ridden this season but they are 2 genuine number 1's in the same team, so why can't every team have that set up??

Because

A - not sll tesms are in the same ginancial position

B - there are not 20 riders of that quality wikling to race in the uk

C - insufficient quality riders on averages around three (kl in the fortunatr position of recruiting lambert) to allow all teams to build in such a top heavy manner and still hsve decent second strings - plus all the five point riders would be out of worj.

Regarding the race format

The promotions had a choice of 4 different race formats.

Choice B1 is going to be the race format. Anyone heard what format that choice is

This is the bit I don't understand. The supporters are treated with such contempt. It is as though we are mushrooms. ( Kept in the dark and fed on s.ite)

We don't expect to be ask or consulted about a new format, that will always be decided by the BSPA. But surely, it's not asking too much, to be kept in the picture, with the whole situation, and told of all the problems, if any, and the expected date of the announcement.

I would have thought us, supporters are very important to the survival of Speedway. But apparent not. The way we are treated, we are seen as the enemy, and any changes made are done in spite of us and not for our benefit.

The sooner the Promoters and Supporters work as one, the better the chance of making Speedway profitable.....

Sorry, can't agree.

Why is it imperative to know now? By the time the season starts we will all know in time for the first meetings so don't get all this hysteria!

The close season is far too long in speedway!!! ;)

Actually, am very calm and calculated. Was speaking from the heart as well as the brain. Most of it is common sense..........

Just feel it could be so much better with a little thought put in to it.

Any new fans coming to the early meetings won't know any difference. They'll pays their money and get their 15 heats!! No problems. :t:

Very true Skidder - but what happens when they turn to the regular Supporter to ask for help with the Programme (I have helped a number of folk over the years) and the reply to the new Supporter: Sorry I haven't a clue how to go on with this.

It won't look good - so at least some advance warning of what is to happen really would be useful for everybody.

Amazed at that comment, NO PROBLEMS??? with that attitude towards the fans, its no wonder they don't bother to come back.

Everybody knows the first rule of any business is to keep your customers happy, the second rule would be to attract for new customers.

As with any new ideas, this new heat format, the BSPA wants the support of all the existing fans, period. Failing that, will only speed up the inevitable demise .

.

A slightly odd view.

Considering it is the heat formula that determines who rides against who in those races and off which gate position.

And what arrangements are being made for replacement riders etc.

I dare say it would make quite a difference.

Especially if they choose a bad formula.

I sincerely doubt if he even reads the programme. He certainly can't grasp what's going on.

Right ladies gentlemen boys and girls.

May have some good news in the near future about this particular topic.

Have e-mail British Speedway Promoters Association and Speedway Control Bureau along with Jon Cook at Lakeside this last week with a polite request for information regarding Elite League 2014 Race Heat Format without any response from any of them at all. So I did the next best thing and PMed our esteemed friend on this forum Philip Rising has to why there seemed to be no response from them not even sending a reply to say thank you for your interest. This is the reply from Philip "I AM rarely at Speedway Star these days but spoke to the office and they basically have the same problem as you. But, hopefully, might have something early next week". Big thank you to Philip

Seems that the Speedway Star and us the fans/supports have been treated like mushrooms, so may see the light at the end of the tunnel shortly then we can all choose our weapons and discuss.

Appreciate your efforts and a big thanks for trying to get some response from the horses mouth..

The facts are indeed worrying, that after 3 months or more, we are still waiting the finalised details.

It wouldn't surprise me, if at the last moment, this protected race formula is dropped and we revert back to the old tried and tested format, leaving the reserves to compete as others have done before...... At least that would enable the present CMA to carry on......

I think the details of the new heat format don't really need to be known by everyone until the press release and there has been a few different types of formats they have been looking at so you can't say much about something that hasn't been decided on yet.

The rough outlines of the format have been knowledge for some time with reserves not having to face top riders but will face decent second strings like Adam Skornicki, Peter Ljung and Richie Worrall. This will mean top riders will not have such easier races and will face each other more times during a meeting.

All we really need to know now is who is in which heat and when but the basics are already out there for everyone to get a decent idea of what to expect.
