Elite League Draft Riders

Recommended Posts

Anyone got the full order in which the way the riders were picked! Everyone looks pretty good to be honest, Leicster look a little weak but thats due to Max Clegg being very inexperianced, so hope he can prove me wrong. Im a massive fan of Cleggy so but i was suprised he got a pick and so early on.

One rider each team was protected? What happened to that rule! Clegg getting picked 13th is astonishing from Lecister!

I just dont understand the order it went in?

Fair play to KL they have worked with the Lewis' to lose out so best protecting them it does make you wonder about rules in this sport. Why do they bother with any. Why not just let each team do their thing. You never know the sport maybe all the better for it rather than the constant smoke and mirrors Edited by TMW

No just Kerr, Rose, Ellis, Newman & Morris were protected. The order that the riders were picked in was what I posted. Round 2 was in reverse order of ranking dependent on who the round 1 rider was ie Swindon went first in round 2 because they picked the lowest ranked round 1 rider (Worrall).

Its suggested that if they have a EL/PL converted average over 3 the excess comes of the 32 pt limit for the top 5, which riders would that include if thats the case?

Only Kerr Garrity and Newman ( above 5 PL)

This encourages teams to actually work with young riders, have NL teams and plan a bit. If it was. Free for all then why should Lynn and Coventry bother with NL teams?

Saw Nielsen a few times at Ipswich this year, he was always falling off. Cant see the Aces making top 4 with those reserves..

I remain very sceptical that this scheme will stand up to a full season of being tested by injuries and fixture clashes, never mind anything happening like the massive scores of Steve Boxall and Jon Armstrong in the first half of the 2006 Premier League season of A-B-C-graded reserves ... for example, according to this thread, Liam Carr has opted out of the draft but will he then be allowed into the scheme as a short-term signing in place of an injured rider from among today's 20 draft names ?

At least it shouldn't be too difficult to avoid away fixture-clashes between Wednesday-home-track King's Lynn and Sunday-home-track Newcastle who have an Elite League reserve pairing also signed up for the same Premier League 1-to-7.

But one selection looks like a logistical nightmare ... when Thursday-home-track Swindon made their first pick, were they aware that Steve Worrall had already signed for Friday-home-track Edinburgh ? !!

Taken to its most awkward extreme, Steve could end up with the sequence of King's Lynn v Swindon on a Wednesday, then Swindon's home meeting the next night, and then the annual double-bill of Monarchs-Devils meetings at Edinburgh on the Friday and Plymouth on the Saturday !!

Rather than having the constant smoke and mirrors perception, they all agree to do a fair and agreed procedure to try and make it all fair and above board, but some like you still chunter on.

I agree whole heartedly although to be fair Garrity is hardly a product of Cov. I just don't know why they bother with rules they seem to be. Easily made easily broken

So your opinion is valued. My opinion is just chuntering

Garrity may not be a product of Coventry but he's not a product of any EL teams NL team is he? Hence he was not linked to any team in the draft so a poor example there.

if Garrity is on 5 that would be 2 points

Garrity doesnt have an EL average. His Pl average is about 5.5 which converts to about 3.3 EL if we were using averages.
