Elite League Draft Riders

Recommended Posts

Now now peeps, lets keep in topic, there's loads of other threads where that little chesnut can be argued over....... This is for serious NL to EL drafting issues....

There isn't anything to argue about :)

Good to see the BSPA engaging with the fans via Social Media today too.

Your welcome. Now I know how ignore works then I'll add you, wish I'd known about it in 2010.

Well you're not winning anything for accuracy, it was David2905 who made the ridiculous claim "

Also I'd pick Leicester 10th rather than In Boro's position, the step up from PL to EL is tough enough without being treated as the ghost of a club that by rights should have been in the play offs." so do keep up if you want to have a go. If you can't even remember your own posts then there's not much hope is there?

That's a fair point you got me there :),

However, I'm not the one having a go. You've made an accusation, abused some other members of the forum and not backed it up.

Let it drop, the rest of us are more interested in todays draft.

There will be live tweeting as the draft happens on the Official British Speedway twitter page (@SpeedwayGB), dont know the exact time but sometime this afternoon.

Thanks for the heads-up.

They do listen to their customers !!!

Exactly the type of thing that should be on social media as it attracts interest and discussion.

A thumbs up to the BSPA for doing this.

And I see Phil Morris has just tweeted his praise for the BSPA "Getting with the times"

Quite happy to drop it as I never started it in the first place as you've just worked out. If I've abused (your words not mine) anyone then it was probably deserved and just payback and/or historical. I couldn't be bothered to look and go through it again which is somewhat different from not backing it up: "Let it drop, the rest of us are more interested in todays draft" - something we can agree on!

Thanks for the time details. At least it gives me an idea if the likely time even if it changes.

Having Phil involved in this gives it credibility from my perspective as I think his involvement is for all the right reasons. Whilst we would be naive to assume a key driver isn't financial, it doesn't take away the fact it has opened up a big opportunity. Whilst the size of the jump (straight to EL) in one go is too big, we've been crying out for years to give young Brit's the opportunity at the highest level and this is the first step.

In the end it's success will come down to promoters following the ethics of the related regulations rather than looking for loopholes. I really hope on this occasion clubs play this fairly. It will be to easy for them to push it to the limits, resulting in uncompetitive matches and disillusioned youngsters.

These youngsters aren't being brought into the EL for a "nicey nicey your turn to win". They and we want competition. But at the same time remember they are our future. Other sports bring their youngsters on slowly as investments. Speedway needs that attitude. We must get away from this mentality that when you do well we can discard you for the next model up due to your improved average. On the face of it the proposed regulations won't allow that.

Draft delayed!

The riders are refusing to be drafted until the biscuits dry out...... well some are, the ones who dunk don't care, as they wet them anyway.... Waiting for a while to see if they will dry out.. .unfortunately nobody thought about keeping a packet or two dry, just in case this happened, just goes to show, not covering biscuits means this happens!!

If I delayed a meeting at work with clients (customers to the rest of us) because I was still in another meeting I'd be in deep rubbish but the BSPA just like treating the fans and press like crap so why expect any different? They told us 3pm and it should have been 3pm. You just can't image the FA delaying the FA Cup draw for 45 minutes because the top brass were in a meeting!

Actually, I've seen many a draw in football be delayed way past the original scheduled time. Especially at World and European Level.

This isn't a big deal, the communication is good, followers are being kept in the loop.
