Phil The Ace
I thought Garrity was still an Aces asset? Nope. Afraid not. He's a rye house asset
Gemini
My head hurts. I'm just going to forget all this and wait to see who lines up for Coventry in March.
B.V 72
I know that he is now a Rye house asset but you would think that with Belle vue helping with his development by having him ride a full season with the colts would mean something re the draft pick..Sour grapes I know but do the right thing Coventry and hands off lol. skthecat
So it could be at this rate, that Poole will own the new national stadium! ! And then loan it back to Belle Vue as a protected asset for 2015!!!! My ead urts!!!!
Irk Deflector
We don't know. He may well have turned it down due to school/German commitments as with most Young Stars away matches, or may even not be happy with the points money. Can't see him having been frozen out for the sake of 3 weeks. Hope not - a real talent and a genuine British prospect.

Has Garrity calmed down a bit now, or is he still a bit on the wild side? We had him at Leicester at back end of 2011 and he usually looked likely to have a big crash. Steve Worrall should be the one to watch next season, from among the non pre-allocated ones.

Fantastic entertainment value, balls to the wall rider. He pushes himself and his bikes, wouldn't say he looks dangerous though. Was riding towards a 10 point PL average with us last year. Taking nothing away from the others on the list, he is the best rider on the draft list by a long chalk. Coventry would be mad not to pick him.
john birch
So in the case of my club Coventry we get first pick of the non protected riders and if we take Garrity, then last pick in round two. If that choice ends up struggling can we then replace them with someone such as Olli Greenwood or Liam Carr. What are the rules if you wan't to replace someone and who gets the right to sign Robert Lambert (if anyone) ? IMO it should be given to teams in the same order as their second round pick. Also what happens if some of these riders become PL heat leader standard by season end -what happens to them or any of the others re their eligibility next season?
T.N.T.
So in the case of my club Coventry we get first pick of the non protected riders and if we take Garrity, then last pick in round two. Kings Lynn would get last pick if they pick Lewis Kerr as their first choice as he is their asset and the highest ranked draft pick, Garrity is #2 so if Coventry picked him, they would be second from last in round 2. Thing is, whoever picks the top few first will have little to pick from but that will only mean one reserve gets 5 rides and one gets 3 rides in most meetings. Teams like Swindon and Birmingham will have two reserves of roughly equal standing. Edited November 30, 2013 by T.N.T.
Jonny the spud
Wouldn't it be lovely to think that maybe any T.V. or major sponsor cash could buy each of these riders one engine to help with their commitment to riding in a higher league ?

It should be built into the share calculations. I would also suggest that some of any money is earmarked to better funding of the international qualifiers etc
Bagpuss
Somebody has suggested that number eights will be on duty for meetings also.....if this is the case they should be the only rider able to replace the number seven rider if need be, not fair if a team has a Newman, Kerr or Garrity and they get an extra ride in every meeting at the expense of their weaker partner while other teams have two medium strength reserves.
Daniel Smith
This may already have been answered but if we let Kerr and Rose ride elsewhere can we claim a loan fee for that????

No way will that happen & Newman & others will clean up.
INCOGNITO
Number 8 rider's are standby replacement for a missing rider and are the lowest ranked of the three. Screamer - Lewis Rose is not an asset and is free to join whichever club picks him
T.N.T.
Had a few answers given me last night about certain rules but still remain to be convinced this is the right way to go for the long term future. It appears the reserves will not get an average through the year that will come into effect. They will remain as a ranked rider and the onlyaverage that will be used the following season is their Premier League average converted. Hopefully when the list of standby riders is published, they will then work on a list or ranking of riders not in the original lists like Charles Wright etc so that if mid season a team needs to replace a rider, a decent replacement can be bought in. Has never signed a full contract in the PL or EL so therefore isn't an asset. Ludvig Lindgren rode a number of meetings for Wolves before Brummies signed him on a full contract. Bagpuss
I am sure the rules were changed to allow NL clubs to claim riders as assets a few years back? Didn't Max Clegg recently sign for Dudley when he had turned 16, and I thought Kyle Howarth was a Poole asset through riding for Bournemouth in the NL?
