Starman2006
Yet again you waffle on about stuff that have nothing to do with what people are saying ...the point being made is nothing to do with how good the riders are ,we all know that the point is that nearly everyone bar you know that under someone else we would beat the likes of the usa and do better than last year . Of course its all about how good the riders are, thats why the USA beat us... Neil can only work with the riders at his disposal. As the new man will soon find out. Sometimes, no, always, you do talk Sh-te Orion. Old saying Orion, you can't turn a selling plater into a Derby horse. And the only Derby horse in that field Orion is Tai. the rest are grade 3- 4 handicappers. now when you've all stopped talking nonsence and put this "Poole thing to bed" We can all wait and see how dear old uncle Rosco fairs, if, he takes it on, and that will be no better with the riders at his diposal. Although im wasting my breath, untill he fails, then, i'l come back and haunt you and your comments.. stratton
Why is Morris the odvious choice? he has not won anything yet he talks well.Saying that for me it is not all about winning silverware that makes the difference who do i think would be the best English manager. For me Rossiter is the odvious choice paid his dues, mascot, rider, team manager been involved in speedway all his life deserves his chance a bloody hard job though. Shale Shaker
So Starman, what you are really saying that Middlo can only be successful when he has superstar riders at his disposal. Â Does he himself blame the riders for the lack of success, or does he infact shoulder some of the responsibility himself. Â I ask again, do you really think he did a good job as manager during the SWC, yes or no? Edited November 14, 2013 by Shale Shaker

Nope, looks like our esteemed Team GB candidate has dissapeared, so obviously the Status Quo will remain... Good band that..
YerRopes
Starman my friend, you continue to defend the indefensible.. Â As BWitcher has pointed out Middlo secured defeat against both Latvia and the USA as Team Manager - both of whom are speedway minnows today. Â Middlo has also spent much of his spare time abusing speedway supporters on his twitter account - very poor fare and he should have been dismissed immediately for the former (and immediately for the latter too).... Â Whoever takes over will have a difficult task in front of them, but they really cannot do any worse and they hopefully will conduct themselves with dignity.
The Doctor...
Shh the next Team GB candidate is on line... perhaps he will tell us how he's going solve things.. Â Blimey, are you really that scared of losing your free entry to Poole next year ? Â Give it a rest mate.. Â Phil Morris seems to be a decent motivator to me, whether you like it or not - to me, there is a high number of british riders who come across as difficult to control, motivate, and are prone to sulks. Â But like how in football, managers put a metaphorical arm around them, inspire them, it can work in speedway too. Â I seem to remember either seeing or reading about golf days that the Birmingham riders had with the management in between meetings. Not everyone's cup of tea i'm sure, but clearly the team spirit was good in the camp, and results came in for the most part. Â Then when GB ride, they're suddenly riding for a man who pretty much pees everyone off through his constant chopping and changing, instantly demotivating pretty much everyone who he crosses swords with, and won't engage in anything remotely team-bonding esque because he thinks he's got enough years in the tank that he doesn't have to bother. Â Will be interesting to see if any "retired" former gb riders make themselves available now..
Starman2006
Er, if anybody cares to look, Bomber Harris has put on his Twitter he's sorry to see Neil go, and that its been a plesure working with Neil. So, obviously Bomber never had a problem with neil... and i would suspect none of the others had any problem. and that Team GB will be in the same position for the forseable future. Neil can pick and work with riders at his disposal ...yet again no one has ask anyone to turn selling platers into a derby horse so yet again you miss the point again ..they expect the platers to beat the donkeys on Weston super mare beach . Â The usa did not beat us because they are better than us they beat us because the great team spirit given to them by there team managers etc and rode above there level . Chris Brown
Work it out for yourself. That team is NOT good enough to compete on the World stage. Simple as that. I would like to see a National Manager that shows some commitment to British riders and support their development. Middleditch as a club manager clearly does nothing to promote Bristish riders at his own club and therefore for me was the wrong bloke for the job. I do not buy the fact that he does not pick the team or at least have some influence over team selection at Poole. After all we keep being told he is the best person at it  Maybe he could have encouraged 2nd halfs at Poole, get young riders to benefit from his ability to manage speedway riders  If he is not trusted to influence the Poole side then let's not let him loose on the National side  Better off without him for, just an opinion though

By your fuzzy logic, does it mean that the riders that don't go on twitter to say how sorry they are to see him go, DID have a problem with him then ? BWitcher
Of course its all about how good the riders are, thats why the USA beat us... Interesting Starman,  you have already admitted that the worst GB rider available as the 4th rider is better than Gino Manzares.  I'm waiting on your response of who is better.. Ricky Wells or any of these Harris/King/Cook/Barker? I'll save you the trouble of answering. You know as well as I do that Wells is not as good as any of those. Neither is Ryan Fisher.  So the USA's 2nd,3rd and 4th member of the team are NOT AS GOOD as GB's 4th rider. Which leaves us with one other.. ah yes, the World Champion.  So, as its 'all about how good the riders are', we can clearly see the GB riders are better than the USA riders... yet we lost, so the blame lies elsewhere.. Middleditch. red5
Interesting reading all the posts about whos good and whos not, You have the debate about Team GB and USA, wells V barker, Bomber V Fishdog etc etc. No one has mentioned about the engines they ride. take it that there was money behind USA, they had Greg working with Billy on what engines for the big tracks and so forth. Team GB had Cooke turn up probably with his regular bikes, nothing special. where as other nations had probably different bikes and engines. Danny would have been the same, you cant expect our boys to ride against the best with regular equipment, Bridger is riding in Poland so he might have been a bit more savvy. Barker was called up for the overseas meeting and had two days to get there and or find engines for a big track. with bikes that had just probably done 4 meetings and needed refreshing. Bomber and Tai had bikes spare and engines to cover for where ever they ride and they are good. We cant expect riders to have Bikes and engine on hand just in case they might get a call to do two extra meeting and to a different specification etc. It needs the BSPA to sort out, Rent engines from a propper engine builder for the meetings, that way there can be no excuses. Riders get the call and here you go put this engine in, have the tuner there working with them to get the best effect and results. We also need some test matches against opposition home and away, seven man squad and give every one a chance to perform on the big tracks. Team GB V Poland at Peterborough and Wroclaw. we will never get the best out of our boys basing on results that some one is good at Bham , Edinburgh, Ipswitch or Belle View. It has to be on results from bigger tracks whee you will see how big the Ba---s are, who is different on big tracks. Team testing at Kings Lynn or Peterborough, a track man changing the track through the day Slick and Grippy. All this costs money and someone has to front up for it, you cant expect riders to front up with £8,000 pounds of engines based on that I might get a call. As to the manager it has to be Phil Morris, he works with you youth and can bring them along to the tests for the experience, gives everyone some running time and the likes of Mark Loram to be there as a coach. So you have a TEAM there to work with the boys all through, engines and chassi work. No good bringing along Rosco as he has a full time job and is not motivational. Put it in place now and start working to the future even down to a three yer plan for moving the team on as a package. Very lastly riders that are selected to the team have to leave their egos at the Pit Gate, we are a team and thats it! if you dont want to be in it or it's for me then off you go. Team GB is why your there nothing other.  Any comments please.
