Brummie Kev
Brummies finished with the same 7 that started the season, amazing given the injury problems of previous years. Will be there interesting to see how many return, 2 already gone and no idea what league we are riding in next year.

SCB
I wonder who the last team was to start a season with same 1-7 that finished the previous season?Coventry started 2007 with the same 1-7 that ended 2006 and won the league, KOC and Craven Shield. The same team had won the KOC in 2006 Edited November 8, 2013 by SCB

The White Knight
Not what future generations of speedway fans will see whether you like it or not Very true. Doesn't alter the fact that I am right though.
ch958
the Speedway Handbook i had as a kid showed Leicester Lions using the same 1 to 7 in all but 1 match and other teams showed much fewer changes than is currently the case. This was 67 or 68 why is this? is it riders riding in multiple competitions or just the win at all costs mentality or something else altogether
skthecat
I think its mainly due to riders racing for multiple teams in different leagues in different countries at the same time... fixture clashes, injuries etc. If a speedway rider averages 1 meeting missing injury per 200 races, in 1970 that probably took all season if not longer, now probably only takes half a season, or less when you ride 5/6 days a week.. This was 67 or 68 This was 1969 and the one match you mentioned was a pre-season challenge.

In case you didn't notice TWK - there's a question mark after 'name only'? That usually questions the statement or opinion, when its not a fact!!
