Oz Championships 2013-14

Based on past years, will Winchester, Woodward, Grajczonek and Brady Kurtz not get automatic invitations as State Champs?

Again as it has been, I presume ten are seeded, six join in from the qualifier?

Which, apart from the State Champions above might be (given they have nominated) Holder, Batchelor, Watt, Schlein, Doyle and any one from Tungate, Smith or North?

Yes they should and also the first South Australian in the meeting from sat night who is eligable or who wants to take his place ,ie Shane said he woudnt be doing it , so Budgie should have next option.

Motorcycling Australia have announced the entries and seeds.

The eight seeded riders are:
Dakota North, Jason Doyle, Cameron Woodwood, Rohan Tungate, Chris Holder, Jack Holder, Troy Batchelor, Josh Grajczonek.
Other entrants who will attempt to qualify:
Mason Campton, Hunter Anderson, Tyson Nelson, Justin Sedgmen, Brodie Waters, Jake Allen, Nick Morris, Alan MacDonald, Sam Masters, Jake Anderson, Daine Stevens, Matthew Day, Jye Etheridge, Tyson Snow, Joey Ringwood, Max Fricke.
I can only assume a number of notable riders have not entered.

No Brady Kurtz -- is he concentrating on the U-21?

No his full concentration is on hoodwinking British Speedway.

So, no Darcy, no Watt, no Schlein, no Kozza Smith (is he fit?)....

No Brady Kurtz -- is he concentrating on the U-21?

Next question: On what basis can MA put Jack Holder into the main event ahead of Nick Morris or Sam Masters?

From what iv been told was 4 state holders (J Holder taking Kurtz place he withdrew) then top 4 seeded from last year and Chris Holder. Adds to 9 so assume one of state holders was top 4 last year (Woodward?)

Kurtz missing out to perhaps protect his 3 avg?? (im not sure on that one)

Cj69 is right. Woodward won the Victorian and the SA titles and came third in last year's championship. Cameron is a class act. Jack Holder qualified in lieu of Brady Kurtz. I saw Brady win the NSW title last Saturday in a blistering display. An intersection of speed, ambition and quality was never going to be denied. I don't know why he didn't enter for the National Championship. If i get a chance, I'll ask him.

No matter who is entered, it could be a good year. Holder and Batchelor will be desperate to show which of them is the main man down here, Woodward is going as well as he has in his life and none of these guys can take guys like Josh G or Jason D for granted.

I'm going up to Undera and to Gillman, just wish I could make Kurri too.

So can someone tell me about the Underra track? As I have asked before, is it like any British tracks in shape and size? Have dates so now it's just a matter of getting back to the lucky country.

There is plenty of videos on youtube of the Undera track!

Undera is smallish and not very wide. It is critical to gate well there, as it is difficult to come from behind. It is technically challenging and not so much the full throttle, big squirt like Gillman or Kurri. It is important to know that it is in the middle of nowhere. Be careful travelling at night, because the area has a large population of big kangaroos. I hit one coming back from the speedway last year and the resulting off road experience, was almost my last. I was lucky. If you are going to hit an Australian marsupial, it is best to do it in an Australian car.

theres normally updates on the update site bud.

Thanks A F , I always go to updates but there is usually a notification on here, it is not a major meeting or maybe Sue has been on the orange juice and not able to post on here, she does a sterling job and maybe just enjoying Christmas. I will check tomorrow on updates, here or Aus Speedway Forum.
