Primary Chain
Where and when will these be held in the oz summer? Anyone put their hand up to ride yet? If all goes well might be down there and get to see some great racing. Haven't been home at this time for too long.
Ned Kelly 41
The dates have been known for some time. Once the riders have nominated, there will be ten seeded direct to the Title rounds, and the next-best (in the eyes of MA)sixteen go into a qualification event at Kurri-Kurri (NSW) on Friday, January 3rd. The first round is at Kurri the following night (4th) and the second one at Undera (Shepparton) in Victoria on Wednesday 8th. The final round is on Saturday 11th, at Gillman (Adelaide) in South Australia. The notable track missing is Mildura, where tremendous improvements are underway, with an airfence and surface changes being installed and which will almost certainly be back on the schedule in 2015. The other notale Australian date will be the U-21 Title meeting, which is set for Gillman on Saturday, January 25th (Australia Day weekend). Get yerself home, Primary mate -- see some serious skidding for a change!
Lord Antebellum
I do like following the Australian season, both to "support" riders I like from afar in the big meetings and to spot the rising talent in lesser events. Presuming Chris Holder will not be fit to ride, should I presume the Australian Championship will be a struggle between Messrs Ward, Batchelor and maybe Schlein? Maybe a surprise or two from Jason Doyle or Cameron Woodward? Ned Kelly says the riders have to be "nominated", can we presume all the main players will be involved? Finally, is it still the case the highest-ranked four riders (outside Ward and Holder) will be the Aussie entrants in next year's GP Challenge rounds? In short, if a rider doesn't enter, or finish high enough in this Title Series, he cannot get into the Challenge?
SteveLyric2
I think you might well find Holder taking part - if his recuperation continues to go to plan as it has done over recent weeks - if only for the chance to have a skid!! If this is true then fair bloody play to the guy! I wasn't expecting to see him until later on in the season after his injuries!
Primary Chain
Thanks Ned et al. While the feeling is that all international riders should be available, the reality is that riders need a break and the oz summer is perfect for recharging the batteries. I understand that those who ride in Britain and Europe week in and week out need a break. Would love to see everyone riding but that's just not possible and I respect the right for riders to say "no thank you." Now where did I put my spare change jar? Lord Antebellum
I'm not sure if I agree that sitting out their home season is a great idea for Australian riders. For the top men, they require only three meetings (during the same week) over four months, and a very real chance of getting onto the GP stepladder. By all means sit out minor domestic events, but the national titles must surely be worth entering. Same goes for the younger lads, with qualification out of their single U-21 meeting into the World U-21 process.
Primary Chain
Agree with you Good Lord but in the end the individual rider knows what's best for him. I went to the Oz Championships a few years ago when it was at the Show grounds in Sydney's Olympic precinct and absolutely loved seeing the likes of Crump and Adams. I would love to go home and see the likes of Ward, Holder ,Schlein and the World Cup Team. That would get quite a few through the turnstiles. Mind you there are a few young riders dreaming of that break when it will be their turn to shine.

JJJ
Chris is keen to ride according to some tweets. Darcy Ward and Nick Morris are possible starters too. The talent on display this year could be massive. The trick in this series is to ride well at Undera. It is a bit different and catches some riders out. Bavarian
Have any of the state senior titles been decided yet? I have read somewhere that the winners of those titles are seeded into the Oz Titles. Correct? Correct, afaik, but would like someone from Oz to confirm this. Two out of five Solo State titles of 2013/14 have been decided in November. Daniel Winchester is the Western Australian State champion, and Cameron Woodward is the Victorian State champion. South Australian and Queensland State titles to be held next weekend, and the New South Wales title the week after.

JJJ
I am glad I do not have to pick the seeds for this one. There is just so much talent. Just to qualify via the Friday night event, would be a great achievement. My top eight would be: Troy Batchelor, Chris Holder, Cameron Woodward, Dakota North, Rohan Tungate, Brady Kurtz, Josh Grajczonek and Jason Doyle. To be honest, I could name at least six more. This list assumes all those named have entered and one D.Ward will not be riding. Entries closed a few days ago, but I am yet to see all the names. This series will be great.
