The Voice Of Reason
Few observations. I believe that Monmore Green is the best race track in the Elite League (I won't be biased and say it's Lakeside - albeit over the past few years, it's the best it's ever been). However, I would have to question why a venue is chosen for such a high-profile event that only has about a third of it's stadium with adequate spectator terracing/viewing? And please don't think I'm knocking Wolverhampton Speedway because I love visiting the place - for a league meeting. But tonight it was so cramped, you had to wait for the person next to you to breathe out, before you could breathe in! And for the couple of people that gave me a dirty look, I was within my rights to spark up a fag - and can't help the way that the wind suddenly blows. To my mind, Brandon is a much better venue for this event. Good presentation - albeit I'm sure that Dan Holt could have expedited the re-runs just a tad sooner by whacking on the 2 minute warning quicker. And whilst on Dan, had to disagree with his decision to exclude Scotty Nicholls. It was neither guys fault; the incident simply being the result of hard racing. But at the end of the day, Scotty did not knock Bomber off, and actually appeared to actually have his nose in front when Bomber went down. If Bomber had gone down on the 4th bend, then I've no doubt Scott would have been to blame as he did appear to lose his racing line and clatter into him; but by the 1st bend, both riders were simply riding their nuts off. Disappointed with both of my guys - after an initial Lakeside 5-1, Richard didn't do himself any justice whatsoever tonight, given his form (including aways) to date this season. And after a blistering first two rides, Lewis just seemed to have no compression whatsoever whilst riding around the bends. Lining himself up perfectly, he just seemed to have momentary losses of power. Can't make it out - as apparently, he's got the best engines of his career. Really thought Lewis was going to be the spoiler tonight. Oh well. Some excellent displays - particularly by Jason Garrity. His win over Tai was one of the most exceptional defensive rides I've seen for a very long time. But also fair play to Charles Wright, who did himself and Somerset proud. Also, well done Ben Barker, who demonstrated some true 'Brit Grit'. Not sure what the messing about with Lewis at the start gate was all about though. I just wish Lewis hadn't have got himself psyched out, because his night was basically finished thereafter. Maybe just a coincidence, but he completely missed the gate in that race - I can only assume because his mind was clearly elsewhere at that moment. Tai's shenanigans at the gate - caused quite a laugh if I'm honest and added to the entertainment during the downtime. And, to be honest, I can't blame him. After all, if I had a pair of earrings that looked as if they'd been nicked off an Amazonian Brass, I'd be looking to dig a hole to bury them in as well. And finally, and this isn't anti-Tai because I like the guy. A big well done to Craig Cook who, to my way of thinking, should have been crowned British Champion tonight after his programmed rides. Yet another pathetic, unfair run-off qualification process, simply to placate the G.P. series and Sky - both of which I despise.

stevebrum
No I don't the fact is Barker and Cook were the 2 highest scoring riders on the night therefore they get to choose what Gate they go off. When Barker and Cook picked there Gate's they did not expect Woffy to rake all of the dirt off there Gate's onto his and then after that he decided to use a shovel to nick all of Harris' dirt and then in a interview say I made 4 perfect starts after being a cheat. FACT FACT FACT. In my opinion he has come across quite arrogant recently Selective memory. You admit you talk bull. The post is there for all to read. As for cheating, what rule did he break? Suggest you read the rule book (its online so you can) and quote me the rule he broke then you just might have a point. You are a known Tai hater so no one takes your posts seriously.

Mr Blobby
Can't believe people are debating about Greg Hancock! What has he got to do with the British final? Nothing!
Shale Searcher
Jest or no jest.... Tai should not have interfered with other riders gates, that's what the lines are for..... Shovelling shale from gate 4 to his gate was naughty, and wrong, people will say he took it from the fence, but some riders stick their back wheels there....!! Plain and simply wrong.
stevebrum
1 post I said I talked bull on that occasion. He cheated full stop. Not really I just talk truth unlike you is it acceptable for a World Champ to score 5 or 6? NO. Did Barker and Cook earn the right to have first choice on gate positions? YES. Did Woffy rake all the dirt off of Barker and Cook's Gates? YES. Did Woffy use a shovel to nick all off the dirt off of Bombers Gate? YES and did Woffy get arrogant by saying I made 4 perfect starts after nicking the dirt off of the other 3 riders gates? YES. You need to stop being bias and read reality. I have seen your comments in the past and if it was Ward or Iversen as the current World Champ and they were scoring 5 or 6 then you would saying everything I am saying because it is all true and it is all facts. Tai hater? don't know what you are on about only because I stated the facts and you didn't like it. I ask again................ what rule did he break??? Go look at the rule book instead of posting yet more bull. I too have seen your comments in the past.......................... Bull on one post only?? I think not. The FACTS are no rules were broken so no cheating happened. THOSE are the only facts. No doubt you will now go back to posting anti stuff about Tai YET AGAIN. Your posts are still there for all to see, Tai hater. What exactly did he do tonight that was big headed. I saw a bit of mischief making, that was funny? Did I miss something? It is just the usual Tai haters, including his new one Gater1. But no, you missed nothing that actually happened!
Shale Searcher
Good Bye Blocked. There is a rule about keeping in your allotted starting gate, if you're in gate one, you cannot interfere with gate 2, 3 or 4, it's perhaps not worded for this scenario, but I suppose they never thought a rider would attack another riders gate with a shovel once the race had been started.......................? Even if stopped and rerun..

OGT
Has it finished now? So who won, come on, tell me it was Bomber!!! Or was it Tai Titchmarsh? Edited June 17, 2014 by OGT
mdmc82
Has it finished now? So who won, come on, tell me it was Bomber!!! The same rider who has had home advantage the last few years. When he finally won it last year I hoped that meant the venue would change. Every year we have rerun after rerun of heats cos not enough room to get 4 bikes out of the start. With riders on twitter & Pearsen & Tatum hinting maybe its time it was elsewhere, it will be interesting to see what is decided next year There is a rule about keeping in your allotted starting gate, if you're in gate one, you cannot interfere with gate 2, 3 or 4, it's perhaps not worded for this scenario, but I suppose they never thought a rider would attack another riders gate with a shovel once the race had been started.......................? Even if stopped and rerun.. Very true, very surprised nothing was done. I'm sure Woffy would have been the first to take to twitter to slag off another rider if they had done it to his start gate
phillipsr
Tai would win it where ever it was held. People on here make me laugh. Nobblytriers
Would you like to quote that rule, which never, ever existed? No Ned, it seems I've had a misunderstanding of the rules for 40 years, what a clown I am!! Sorry. How embarrassing If you care to read on after my first post I've already conceded defeat though it does seem that there others on here that seem to that think the rule existed too. If it never, ever, ever, ever existed, maybe it could/should be implimented? Just a thought. Edited June 17, 2014 by nobblytriers
Wolfsbane
I see the Tai haters are out in force! I hope that's not aimed at me Mr Brum The morning after the night before and I'm still chuckling to myself about Tai and the hand shovel. Not what he did with it but how he picked it up, looked at it and then turned it over. Assumed he was checking for greyhound poop

jimmy jimmy
Absolutely, I don't think there's ever been a World Champion in any sport that doesn't get a little arrogant. It's what comes natural when you become the best at what you do. Human nature When Woffy was at BV he signed every autograph asked for, and agreed to every picture, smiled all the time and nothing was too much trouble. Sorry, in my book he is a top bloke
montie
The ref,the start marshall or the clerk of the course didnt seem to have an issue with Tia and his spade so what the drama---you do what you have to do to win, fair play Enjoyed it last night some OK racing but i must say im a little bored of this meeting being held at Monmore now, they do a good job of promoting it but id think its time to move it to a different track now Nice to see Michael Rutter there giving out the trophys,Sky missed a trick there not interviewing him,he a popular bloke in the Motor Cycle world and is well liked, would have done the sport a bit of good to interview him Oh--and for what its worth for me Harris jumped ship when Scotty came under him!!!
ProudtobeaBrummie
I found it very distasteful last night certain people around me booing ben barker literally as he come off his bike twice in the final and shouting get up and flicking the vs at him before he was even up on his feet these people were mainly the cookie crowd sad pathetic people who I hope I never meet again ... Regardless what you think of a rider what till there up and ok rant over by the way it's wasn't wolves fans as I've been there 8 times with the brummies and he's never been booed there
