raymondbudd
I would love to see an SEC event in the UK too, I imagine it would be well attended given the strong line up. However given the BSPA stance on this competition, I doubt it would ever happen.
PHILIPRISING
GIVEN that there was only three current SGP riders in Sunday's SEC line-up makes you wonder what all the winter fuss was about. Â Years ago when the SGP went to Berlin the then boss, John Postlethwaite, was told he should have gone to Gustrow instead. Now we know why. Good crowd, excellent meeting.
oldtimer
Great meeting, thought Jack made fewer mistakes than Ermolenko, Sam called Christian Heffenbock, Krystoff Hoffenbrook, but his worst was yet to come, "The German out front is Tomasz Gollob" I played it back a couple of times to make sure he actually said it. Sudden Sam was a great rider but obviously has suffered too many bangs to the head. And I have to say, adding to the terrific racing, Jack Burnicle & Sam Ermolenko has been very good tonight too. The whole show from start to now has been bang on You must be joking Jack saying Pedersen was in the lead when he wasn't and then he realised his mistake and said I must stop thinking he always wears a red helmet, and Sam "The German in front is Tomasz Gollob." OveFundinFan
Didnt mind the start line being just after a corner, but would have liked the finish line further along to turn 1. If thats how Wimbledon did it, as someone stated, them thats sounds good to me.

Good crowd yes but very poor meeting and racing i thought. Would hate to see SGP go there !!!! Was looking forward to this meeting but thought whole production was way down on last year and rider line up no where near as good. Also the start girls need shooting as were way over the top. Â Jack did as many mistakes as Sam, his pronunciation of Miedzinski was tedious come the end. Both should never be allowed near a mic again !!!!! Sam has always been crap and is now just dire. pugwash
Once again Jack added to the meeting with that enthusiasm and unashamed enjoyment of the proceedings not even remotely matched by any other commentator. I don't care one little tiny bit that he gets a few things wrong, he enhances the presentation without yelling his head off or being an all knowing spouter of obvious facts. I truly cannot see the point of some people's insistence that the most important part of a commentary is to be told what you already know in the first place. Â . Stephen7
How I understand it (so not very well ) is that the SEC is under the 'European FIM' and not 'The FIM' & there's been some internal wrangling between the 2 parties over it. Â British Speedway only recognise the official FIM but I do believe the official FIM are becoming swayed to the SEC so in the near future all riders will be competing. Â I really do hope so. I really enjoyed the SEC last year, and it was great to see such strong support for it from the fans this year. This is what speedway needs, and British interest would be brilliant, even if not held in the UK.

If thats how Wimbledon did it, as someone stated, them thats sounds good to me. Wimbledons start + finish line thing was due to the track being too small for international meetings,so they needed the extra few yards to meet standards, not for any racing decision.Don't remember the start line being right down by the corner either and guess it provides a problem as to where does the refs box go?start line or finish line.Personally think Güstrow works well. There were quite a few close finishes last night
PHILIPRISING
It was jack`s " last speedway " swansong-and for someone my age, loved the gag about the Arthur Askey start marshall. It was within the first minute tonight when he couln`t say Czestochowa correctly and the sound was still on when a background film came on and you could hear Sam telling him how to say it. To be fair the stadium was probably a bit of a wreck at that time.Only about 7 or 8 years ago the main terracing on the 3rd/4th bend was crumbling away and had to be cordened off at some stage i think. They have done some major work at the stadium most winter breaks for a few years now and the stadium is well worthy of big meetings.I would say that the racing is regularly very good.Last nights meeting wasn't even great for that track. It can often be better Edited July 7, 2014 by iris123
PHILIPRISING
Very enjoyable meeting. Strangely "biased" start grid but the way the track allowed some great racing more than made up for that. Looking forward to the future rounds. Only drawback for me (apart from no Jack) is the lack of UK representation. And I don't care whether it is not an official competition - it is an international Speedway series for \}$€< sake and the UK SHOULD be involved.  Anyway - a good three hours worth of viewing. I DON'T agree with your second par but that's just a matter of opinion. However, I do think it is incumbent on the commentators to at least make a decent effort to correctly pronounce the names of the riders. Poor old Jack cannot even get Pedersen right let alone Miedzinski. Some of his comments are unintentionally hilarious, others just fatuous, but personally don't think he does speedway any favours with what comes across as a very amateurish effort.  Conversely, thought Dave Rowe did a fine job with the Swedish league stuff last week so perhaps British Eurosport should wheel him out for the SEC as well.  Have posted elsewhere how much I enjoyed the 'Five rooms, five SGP champs' programme that followed the SEC last night. Like The Life of Tai, it was quite fascinating at times and if Jason Crump is looking for new employment his handling of the discussion should point him in the right direction. I can say that in all honesty given that I was originally scheduled to be the host but couldn't make it to New Zealand for personal reasons.  I know BSI would like to find air time for more of the features they film in and around SGP events and hopefully British Eurosport, who will be showing highlights of last month's Danish GP tomorrow (Tues), will see the light. Honestly,i have seen some amazing races there. Was talking to Andy Smith a few weeks ago and he said he loved the place "like a little Sheffield",although i have never been to Sheffield so can't say if there is any resemblance at all.Gollob said it was like Ipswich and Nicholls said it was like a small Longtrack......Really is worth a visit once in a lifetime.Nearby Teterow is totally different.Chalk + Cheese and pretty boring track

PolskiZuzel
No moans cos I don't really care about the comp tbh! Trees, pull another one. How come you don't care about the comp, if you comment on it.
Trees
Trees, pull another one. How come you don't care about the comp, if you comment on it.I guess it's mainly because I don't particularly feel an affiliation with any of the riders (only Kildemand races over here now in the BEL and I'm not so keen on him) I'm watching it for speedway sake alone (perhaps I do like Emil). Don't get me wrong the comp is the format for the World Championship I'd like to see and I like that the riders are getting better reward out of it. The Polish are rightly using their resources on their competition rather than the other one. It's all good really isn't it! No more negativity :-)
waiheke1
Very enjoyable meeting I thought, with some excellent racing, though to me it lacks the tension and excitement of the gps.
