moxey63
In today's hectic diary, and the globe trotting of riders, it is impossible I'm guessing to re-arrange a weather ruined match. perhaps the problem here lies around employing globe trotting riders who use Britain as an added income. bringbackHalifax
the sky deal ran out at the end of October, it was never going to run for a calendar year in a sport that finishes it's season on the 31st October.
fish keeper
I don't think there will be an EL next season and that we will see the return of the old Division 1&2.
bigcatdiary
Yep a return to the good old British League. Â If that's the only thing the BSPA are good for their is no hope for the sport.

mudflaps
No it didn't. sussex bulldog
Slightly off topic but I have spent most of my time in France since 1st July this year and have been enjoying watching speedway via Sky satellite. Now they say I can't watch it as it is only intended for the UK and ROI. My crime is I am honest as 1,000's of Brits watch it over here and lie about it. They have not shut me off yet but I am expecting to move to Freesat. Does anyone know if you can get British Eurosport via the same dish ? There are a few foreign organisations who beam sports with an option for English commentary , including sky, into the uk, and no doubt France as well. Â David, unfortunately British Eurosport is also encrypted, like Sky, for viewing only in the UK and ROI. The French (international) version of Eurosport will only be showing the European Championships. Unfortunately none of the channels available on Freesat carry speedway. Â The only hope is for finding a French channel that carries speedway, the likeliest candidate being the pay-TV channel Canal+. It is one of those frustrations of international TV that if a sport hasn't sold TV rights to in your country you can't readily sign up with a foreign broadcaster that has such a deal. Â (There is though the option of taking out a different subscription and playing the game differently as many other ex-pats do but I didn't say that....). Jonny the spud
You can get sky in France ( allegedly) Or you can go to any expat bar and ask them to show it.

They really do have the collective business nous of a playground full of 4 year olds.... I am sure negotiations have been going on for some time - The fact that the season ends end of Oct and the Sky contract ends end of Dec are of little relivance to one another as there is no speedway to show. THE AGM is also just another date in the diary which would not greatly influence any talks with Sky re 2014 and beyoynd. Yes it would be neat and tidy but should any agreemenst be made after the AGM then so be it - its just a normal (though significant) part of annual operations within the sport. If it gives you any comfort - The term of Sky's contract with the Premier League doesn't coincide with neither the PL's AGM or end of season. Yes but Sky's contract for the Premiership and other footie is negotiated about 2 years prior to commencement, not a few weeks/months before!!!
