NeilWatson
To be fair, that Press Release was not really an accurate account of the establishment of the new club at Kent; and I think it's best all round not to dwell on that a whole year on. Kent is very much in every respect a stand-alone club and operating out of, certainly, the best stadium at NL level (one of the best in the UK in any division, tbh) and it's these positives which needed then and still now to be emphasised. Kings Lynn & Coventry?
Nikko
wud it be so bad as to give adam kirby another go? or has he moved on? only suggesting him cos hes had a seasons experience with us already and yeah even tho he had an up and down sort of season i think we saw enough in him to make me think at least thats he's got potential so long as he can become a bit more consistant? May get shot down for suggesting him but hey wat the heck lol!Adam was told weeks ago he wouldn't be considered for the team. Yes, he didn't finish the season very well and people forget the good scores he put in early season but as with a lot of riders people only remember how you finish. Adam was very disappointed with his lack of consistency and had already started a new fitness campaign and was looking to raise more sponsorship for better equipment. If the promotion go with a new untried rider at reserve then I agree it would have been better to give Adam another chance. Brendon has had three years of league speedway, albeit losing a lot through injury, and is still only on 3.00 so why not give Adam another go as well, especially as he knows his way round CP. A reserve duo of Brandon and Adam could do very well, don't forget a few years ago they were 1 and 2 in the British Under 15s and I think in the Under 16s as well. waco
I agree that Adam Kirby would be a better option than a complete rookie I feel his equipment let him down a lot last year and this is a problem with many youngsters and its usually down to money ,or the lack of it.. A fit Adam on good bikes could have done a good job at reserve this season ..I feel for the lad,,,but i suppose the management did give him a whole season to improve and that did not happen,,not to say it could,nt if he had another opportunity .He has a bit of dash about him, rides hard into the corners, but at times gets to close to other riders back wheels usually with bad results,,Hope he gets a place in a team some time this year ,and prove hes got what it takes,.... My guess now at the last rider is Aaron Mogridge.... Who is going well at Rye training schools.. Edited January 6, 2014 by waco
Parsloes 1928 nearly
Kings Lynn & Coventry?Better than King's Lynn as a stadium without a shadow of a doubt, yes... Coventry..? Hmm, well it's a close run thing...
gaptooth
Brendon has had three years of league speedway, albeit losing a lot through injury, and is still only on 3.00 Brandon was with Hackney in 2011 at 15 years old which by his own admission was a miserable season for him. He then missed the whole of 2012 after being injured in a road accident. Then rode half a season with the IOW last year. He was third in the team averages before he was injured in July with a near 8 point ave inc bonuses. Due to the fact he hadn't completed enough league meetings he didn't gain a real ave so starts on a three this season. I think to draw comparisons between Brandon and Adam is a little bit unrealistic tbh.
BigDave1
I think Liam Rumsey is worth a try. He is another who has had his fare share of injuries which has curtailed his progress. He went O.K. around Central Park last season when riding for Mildenhall and is on a handy 3.05 ave.

Yeah man I agree, but isn't Adam Kirby part of the Nikko Racing stable of young Brits, so can understand totally why he would be encouraging the promotion to ave a sniff at Adam. Good lad I hear but haven't seen him ride much I must admit cool
gaptooth
But to be fair Adam did appear to have a better debut season.
SLIPSTREAM
What about Rikki Mullins, i saw him at iwade before xmas looked alot quicker and smoother than the last time i saw him. Always got good equipment aswell, and a local lad in sidcup i think!

waco
Rikki Mullins is quick enough his problem in the past has been staying on board for 4 laps If he has now improved on that he would be ok,,, Liam Rumsey yes a good possibility, Danny Phillips is still the strongest option,,with Aaron Mogridge the most likely rookie ,,so there,s 4 possibles,,any more any one ??? Mimmo
Aaron Moggeridge - isn't the surname Mogridge? Yep, and his Christian name is spelt Arron.
Ben91
If Arron Mogridge gets the last spot with the Kings then Adam Kirby can feel rightly aggrieved as he is a far superior rider. Regardless of his base the Kings need to make a statement and sign Phillips. Alongside Freemantle they would be a mightily impressive reserve duo. Guest
Yep, and his Christian name is spelt Arron. Thank you. It reminds of when in the late 1950s I used to wrongly spell the name of Polish star Włodzimierz Szwendrowski.
