Guest
Totally agree Waco that an experienced head in the pits is invaluable to help the youngsters with engine set ups and adapting to track conditions and in David Mason he still has a lot to offer in that field and can still mix it when needed. If David is not used for the King's in 2014 he would be a excellent choice as Team Manager / Coach. as someone who has been there, done it & got the T-Shirt and with his knowledge is respected by other riders is the league. With the top 5 confirmed on the B.S.P.A. site and Jack Kingston not being able to commit to Mondays, http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.23479. Now I would like to see the other 2 riders being Marc Owen & Brandon Freemantle with a 1 -7 of, 1. Simon Lambert ?.?? 2. Luke Chessell 4.22 3. David Mason 6.38 4. Benji Compton 6.37 5. Ben Morley 7.12 6. Marc Owen ?.?? 7. Brandon Freemantle 3.00 I am more than happy to see David Mason in the team list for 2014. Why the queries against Simon Lambert and Marc Owen? Islander15
Pretty sure Lambert and Owen will retain their averages from 2011 so they are on 9.46 and 5.33 respectively. The top 5 announced gives you 6.44 for the reserves. Unless one of your reserves is Freemantle, it's a mid table team for me. There's no stand out rider for improvement and I think Kingston will be a bit miss, in regards to upping his average as will Coles.
Parsloes 1928 nearly
Why the queries against Simon Lambert and Marc Owen?Because neither rode NL in 2013 so don't have an instantly recognisible average.
whistlegang
So Kings top 5 are - Lambert,Morley,Compton,Mason & Chesell with reserves to come. That looks rather good in my books. Funny how the team has been announced after comments on here. Coincidence or is somebody looking at this Forum? Go me for predicting Lambert - I am very happy with that. Luke looked great around CP (2 wins from 3 rides) - I have tweeted him to welcome him to the side. Hopefully he will not be late for the meetings lol. I am gutted about Kingston though as he was worth the entrance fee alone all season. I bet the team announcement is NO coincidence. Well done to the promoters though as this 5 look a match for any NL side. During the interval at this years NLRC, there was a youngster who had a few laps - does anybody know his name? How about him and Kelsey Dugard at reserve? i liked the look of Marc Owen - that sort of rider would take the pain out of losing JK.
Nikko
Good top 5. Lambert is going to be very busy in 3 leagues and obviously Kings fans will not want a Sky meeting between Birmingham & Lakeside or you will be missing Lambert & Morley on the same night (unless NDL takes precedence). Will also be interesting to see how many meetings Lambert misses due to PL commitments. Glad Mason & Compton back, rode well together end of last year. Shame about Kingston, Coles and Kirby but be interesting to see who reserves are. Also, and I know this is a bugbear of mine, but with 4 of the 5 riders announced so far long standing Rye House or Mr Silver riders this could be the Rye House Raiders side and doesn't do much to make the Kings a standalone club and nothing other than the Raiders at Kent. Just my opinion. Also interesting "quote" came from Roger Cearns, although he isn't the co-promoter he is the Chairman as there are no Promoters in the NDL. Good luck to all involved in 2014. Very true about the Raiders connection. With team so far it makes it very unlikely of `Official`Raiders return? I have to be trueful and say I am not unhappy about no Coles/Adam.It is my opinion that Coles was very disappointing last season. And I really do not think that Adam really takes to Speedway.I say this as it really worries me that he took a lot of falls and his equipment does not really seem up to scratch. It is a shame no Jack but will be interesting who the other 2 riders are.

gammy73
Ive just been chatting to jack Kingston on twitter and he is honestly gutted he cant come back next season? Says there's just no way he can fit it in with his work commitments? Have passed onto him that general opinion on here is hes gunna b missed and a big loss and hes grateful and just gutted. Such a shame as a really nice lad who seems genuinely upset about missing out with us next year
Rebel1
At last some action, not such a bad top five and if we can land two strong reserves then the Kings could go a long way. Injuries may then be our only bugbear, hopefully!

Still only 11/12 I believe. Currently Redcar's mascot.

Nikko
Well that has answered what I have been thinking that the Raiders will not be returning. Yes they will, they are at Central Park lol :-)
IAN2
Yes they will, they are at Central Park lol :-) Yes forgot about that, if they don't enter the league then they will be back to plague all at CP.
Rebel1
Yes they will, they are at Central Park lol :-) Raiders, near Raiders or non-Raiders. The whole is greater than the parts! The sum of the parts is the whole! You do not have to support the promotion rather the riders (team Kent in this instance). Time to cheer: 2 4 6 8 who do we appreciate k-e-n-t KENT
waco
They may be raiders to a few on here,, but to the vast majority of Kent fans they are riders for Kent..When a rider or riders change track ,which happens reguarly,, they do not take their old track name with them,,they become committed to the new club, and all that entails including their new track name,,Some of the team could feel quite offended if they read this forum,,So lets all come together and support the riders and the promotion,,Alternatively there are other tracks to support if you dont like the way this one is run.....
Rebel1
Interesting thought, is it possible that Rye House and Central Park will be 'air fence' sharing? Surely some clubs will have considered this as a possible option. I know that there may be logistical issues but for the majority of the season it is deflated and stored between meetings. waco
As far as i know the Rye fence has been ordered,.As yet i have not heard anything regarding the fence at Kent ..Sharing is unlikely would you fancy moving it and resetting it up twice a week ,i would be surprised if it was an option . with there being no other sports at Rye it may not have to be moved only deflated...
