you missed out the bit where the rubels finished with the highest total team average, 47.05.. hence thats why they won the league and stuff.

Congratulations to Somerset they've been the team to beat this season and Monday was a fitting end to their efforts this season.

I was lucky enough to attend the match and I'm very proud of my team, The Mighty Monarchs', efforts throughout this season and Monday night.

I'd also like to thank the '(largely)young team' of fans that I travelled with. In a day and age when youngsters are much maligned it was a hoot to travel with these guys.

Were they boisterous ..? Yes of course.

Were they noisy..? Yes of course.

Were they respectful of their opponents and fellow opposition fans ..? Most definitely.

Great effort guys.

And here is to next season.

Don`t know about pathetic, more gutted I think, but he said in the Star that there was always next year.

If the promoters decide to lower the points limit as rumoured Jason could struggle to find a PL team place on that average

Many congratulations to Somerset, after a season where 40+ pts home and away in virtually every match was the norm, a level of consistency of that calibre deserves to have it's rewards so a thoroughly good job very well done!! :t:

That 3 year period is just up

From looking at the SCB's Speedway Regulations, there may well be one more season at 42.5.

I quote..............

17.7 An ELITE LEAGUE Team’s initial Declaration must not exceed 42.50 points, nor must it
exceed 42.50 points when re-declared (either permanently or temporary) except where the
MA of the introduced Rider is equal to, or lower than the Rider being replaced.
17.8 A PREMIER LEAGUE Team’s initial Declaration must not exceed 42.50 points (for 2013/14)
17.9 A NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE Team’s initial Declaration will consist of 7
Riders whose total MA must not exceed 40.00 points (for 2012, 2013 & 2014).

Whenever the set period would end I would be surprised if there wasnt a proviso for a change should there be a shift in team numbers.
