NJC71
Congrats to the Rebels. Deserve to be champions. The BSPA need to do something for next season though. Ridiculous having the final on 28 October in predictably awful weather. Scrap the two groups of three and go back to top 4 and make sure the final is held in late September/early October.

DavyH
Ignoring the OP lol - here's my thoughts from the totally unbiased ever Monarchs Chatzone First of all, Well Done to Somerset on becoming Champions although in many eyes they were already champs! Well Done too to the depleted Monarchs on a brave performance. What a season it's been for us - The pleasure of watching Cookie being top PL man again, Captain Deek being so inspirational at times, watching the emergence of not only a great rider but such a friendly respectable young Aussie that is Max. Great rides from Theo despite his injuries and illness at times, Claus for coming in at the last minute and battling like hell and Joe for so many entertaining moments, get well soon! Thanks too for all the guys at reserve who contributed so well, Marcel, it didn't work out, Mitchell, love to see him back, Josh, injury robbed us of a star and Liam for some great performances. As others have said, there was a real improvement on friday nights at the Dale, the promorion deserve thanks too. Back to Somerset - I've been fortunate enough to visit the OTA many times since they came into CL/NL leagues as I have family near the track, they thoroughly deserve this success for all the hard work they have put in both on and off track. I was there when Monarchs won on aggregate a few years back to qualify for the EL/PL play-offs - the genuine good wishes from the Rebels fans that night in their bar remain with me and I congratulate them, their team and promoters tonight. Enjoy it, because next year, it's our turn - yet again Edited October 28, 2013 by DavyH
EC Rides Again
Congratulations to the Rebels. Pleased for them after coming so close last year. The ending was a bit of a mirror image of the climax of the 2012 season when Scunthorpe just edged them out almost a year a go to the day. The Somerset camp showed a lot of class that night at the EWR. Chin up Monarchs fans, maybe you'll keep the run going and go one step better in 2014. DavyH
Sorry Young 51 - can't agree, Somerset won the PL over the year, for Monarchs or any other team to win a League over 1 hour in October would be wrong. I know the Play offs encourage crowds, but a team that wins the league is always the best over a season, not just lucky over 1 hour! Having said that, I would have taken another league win just to annoy Paulco lol

Starman2006
Congratulaions to Garry May Steve Bishop the Hancocks and riders on their PL Title. To my mind it is justice after last seasons last heat decider that cost them the title. Like it or not, Neil Middleditch is the bench mark, and heads the field by several lengths, but Garry and Rosco are improving all the time, and are starting to pick up Trophies on a season basis. Garry is now proving himself to be a very good team manager, and after last season has bounced back put a very good team together to claim the PL title. And Rosco is starting to think, which is a very dangerous thing, all have their own approaches and ways of doing things, but what they do all have in common, is they get the best out of the riders they have. As i said in another thread, some posters said this would be a walk in the park for Somerset, not this person, they Edinburgh have beaten Somerset before at the OTA this season, and they were capable of doing it again, even without Tabaka. The track wasn't the best, but certainly wasn't the worst because of the intimitant rain it made it a real leveller, only somersets greater strength in depth saw them home. Garry is starting to realise you don't win Championships and Trophies being nice, you have to be ruthless in this game, and sometimes decisions have to be made which may not be of the liking to fans, but, they are being done for the good of the club and the team as a whole. Also a special mention for Kyle Newman and Josh, who have claimed a unique double of both EL and PL championship madals. Well done lads.. And to all the Edinburgh fans who stayed behind in the clubhouse taking the defeat so well and still singing there hearts out. Well done all of you. Catalan
Mike, if Garry had the resources Matt Ford gives Neil he would be a far better manager than Mr Middleditch. He is so tactically aware it's unreal. He talks through most scenarios and how to cope with them on the way to matches, he always encourages his riders telling them where to ride on the track. And I bet he is already has a few team permutations for next year. The final thing is he would never take a rider out to the pub before an important meeting.
