The above forecast would suggest that the match going ahead is eminently possible.

Interesting webcam from West Somerset rly. We are/were planning to make a day of it with a visit to the steam railway followed by the Oak Tree arena. Sympathise with Monarchs fans.

BBC forecast for Highbridge at 10-30 am today is Heavy showers all day until 20-00 then light showers until midnight. However it's dry now 15 miles from track and just cloudy.

Rebels web site just posted that meeting is still on tonight. :D

Track was checked this morning and apart from puddle on straight was in good condition (puddle being pumped off). Met check says showers but all clear after 6pm.

Website posted meeting still on because it is still on, whats so amusing about that?

I think it is hapiness rather than amusement. ;)

I emailed BBC Points West asking why last Friday they covered the match between two local Rugby clubs and Bristol City losing again, and never mentioned the Rebels away to Edinburgh. I received a reply from Alistair Durden sports journalist today saying he will try and get a mention re tonights match. STATMAN I have sent you a pm with his telephone number.

Dare I say it, but this is a huge risk to run this meeting tonight. Of course I am hoping its on and the Rebels clinch the title they so richly deserve, but it would be such a shame to run it whilst dodging showers, or on a track that can't do this history making meeting justice.

Fingers crossed that it stays dry from here and the famous Highbridge wind blows strongly across from the M5!

The wind is blowing and the track looks good

Heading home from this one. Track just took an absolute soaking on top of the water that was already on it. If the meeting is run in those conditions then shame on the club. Will not be a spectacle just 4 blokes crawling round a muddy field. I wish the boys the best of luck if it is on.

Congratulations to all involved at Somerset from the riders, officials, sponsors, trackstaff and other helpers in whatever shape or form but most of all to the Hancock family who made all this happen! Somerset Cases Rebels 2013 Premier League Champions!

Well done to Somerset on being crowned champions!

Thought they would have finished us of earlier than they did but for us to keep our chances alive until the last bend of heat 14 was a fantastic effort from our 6 boys tonight! Unlucky in the end but we will be back to do it all over again and hopefully go one step further.
