Somerset Vs Edinburgh 28.10.13

so 45 43 going to be tight never underestimate the underdogs. Without tabaka it will be hard for the monarchs but they will give it a go. Still think the rebels will have too much at home, stronger team in depth. Take cook out the game that is what the team must do.

1 Jason Doyle

2 Kyle Newman

3 Nick Morris

4 Alex Davies

5 Josh Grajczonek

6 Charles Wright

7 Lewis Rose

1 Craig Cook

2 Max Fricke

3 Claus Vissing

4 R/R

5 Theo Pijper

6 Liam Carr

7 Derek Sneddon

the forecast for monday is terrible, i'd be suprised if it's on.

Tuesdays not much better, Wednesday could be your best bet..

Still feeling gutted that my Witches team didnt get to this one - I was hoping to make one last contribution to Statmans excellently produced programme!

I feel the Rebels have too much strength in depth. Davies is like a 4th heat leader at home.

The only way the Monarchs can win is for it not to take place IMO.As a neutral I think I can get away with saying that where a Rebels fan would be accused of smugness or arrogance.

Good luck luck for Monday ...or Tuesday....or Wednesday... or whenever!!!

My head says you are right but my heart says I hope you are wrong.

I hope it is not the rule that if the second leg doesn't take place we are by default winners, I can't think of anything that would make the "sport" of speedway look more ridiculous, Somerset finished top so if anything it should go to them, I personally don't want a tainted title.

Here's hoping it does go ahead and the mighty monarchs can pull off a miracle, then it would be deserved.

Well watching the BBC forcast, there maybe a slight chance this could be on, but id still keep an eye on the Rebels home site. A decision has to be made early because so many Edinburgh fans looking to travel.

Obviously my first hope is that the meeting goes ahead on Monday as planned.

What a great pity Sky could,nt see there way to putting it out live.I,m sure thousands of speedway fans who could,nt attend as well as neutrals would have enjoyed watching both legs.

Now without wishing to sound like sour grapes I would like comments on the controversial decision by the referee at Armadale to only exclude Nick Morris (Somerset) from the HEAT RE-RUN for dangerous riding. Surely dangerous riding should have been an exclusion from the rest of the meeting?

Before you all get het up Craig Cooke was thrown out of a meeting after FISTICUFFS with Ben Barker. Now what is worse? A bit of handbags between two riders or dangerous riding whereby a rider could be seriously injured or even worse killed?

Joe Tabaka is VERY doubtful for Monarchs which will mean R/R and this very rarely matches the points total of the rider himself.

Anyway that,s my gripe and I,ll finish off by saying I hope it,s a spectacular meeting worthy of speedway and may the best team win.

The above forecast would suggest that the match going ahead is eminently possible.

It says strong breeze early hours as the worst of the weather, so either the national weather forecast of storm force gales of 80mph (hardly a strong breeze) are totally wrong or this web site forecast is not to be trusted.

The Highbridge weather is pretty difficult to judge at the best of times. Can you imagine the quandary the track Curator must be in at the moment! Heaven knows, a match was called off in warm summer sunshine not too long ago. Personally, I think the match should be called off now with a view to re-staging on Wednesday (if that is at all possible) to save the Edinburgh fans the time/trouble/expense.

My prediction for the match is a resounding win for the Rebels. They are very solid throughout at home, and as dontforgetthefueltapsbruv says, Alex Davies is a fourth heat leader at home.

Considering the advice on the national news tonight to only travel if your journey is absolutely necessary, then dependent on the forecast for the area it would make sense to do so in advance.

Big improvement on Tuesday, I think it will be postponed till then. Particularly because of all the publicity on the news tonight which would definitely effect attendance if the meeting did go ahead as planned.

Highbridge is directly in the line of fire from the storm tonight. Its times like these I bet the management are glad they haven't yet invested in covered stands!

Clubhouse should be ok, but the Refs box could be firewood by the morning..

With all the rain forecast the track and carpark could be like a lake by mon am and unless it drains very fast would probably still be wet throughout tues.

This foreign forecast shows rain till early tues, the BBC rain till 3pm tues, but the forecasts keep changing.

Wed night if available looks the best bet, just hope they make a decision early tomorrow.

If the ref is as bad as Friday's seems to have have been then the ref's box could well be firewood the morning after the meeting - burnt firewood!! ;)

Hopefully the weather relents and the meeting goes ahead.

Just hope the golf range next door survives as well!

Didn't i read that he is in hospital with a broken shin bone and had an op which must make him a bit more than very doubtful. Think its R/R for Joe, who i wish all the best to and hope he gets well soon.
