cityrebel
it could be a nightmare trying to get this run in the last few days of the season. with storms forecast on monday, that only leaves tuesday and thursday to stage both legs, with the heathens due at king's lynn on wednesday. unless something can be squeezed in this weekend, the weather gods will decide the outcome of this competition! Bryn
Hopefully the date for the staging of the IOW leg will be officially confirmed by the club via a press release later this morning, that's the plan BUT do bear in mind the agreement of brilliant club sponsors Wightlink to allocate ferry crossings from Pompey and back has to be obtained. Mike.Butler
i was at mildenhall last night, and they were frankly stunned that their arrangements to host the first leg on Saturday had to be binned...Quite whether the IOW had seriously considered having to stae another meeting until after heat 15 i wouldn't like to say...
cityrebel
hi mike, i reckon the IOW were thinking the same thing, after three laps of heat fifteen of the 2nd leg of the first semi final!!!

Bryn
2nd leg Wednesday 30th on BSPA site Indeed, weather permitting of course, it will be held at Smallbrook next Wednesday, start time 7pm. Official press release confirming that and looking back further on last night etc, to be issued by club within next 30 mins or so.

Ommer Mon
It's gonna be cold but there is no sign of rain around at the moment. Big crowd, great atmosphere, it will be a great night. Looking forward to welcoming home the Champions and building a big lead to take across the water tomorrow. Ommer 'em!
greyhoundp
Clear skies, but freezing, will deffo be on, hoping for a massive crowd to see the Champions on parade, this will most likely be the last time this team takes to the Track together at Monmore, lets get there show our appreciation.. stay safe everyone.. Bryn
Gutted I won't be there tonight but really pleased that I will be at Smallbrook tomorrow. My wish is for there to be big crowds at both venues and like 'greyhoundp' really hope that all riders in both teams avoid injury - we've seen too many of those in 2013. berniev123
After a Heathens 'Horror Show' for Heats 1 to 4 inclusive, glad to say that we have a 25 point lead into Leg Two of the NL KO Cup. Must say that the first 4 Heats were a joke to watch as we could not get 2 riders past the tapes in too many Heats. We still won in the end and I expect, unless, we try the same on the Island tomorrow night, we have the KO Cup as well as the rest we entered for in 2013! OK Heathens, what about getting the NL Trophy in 2014 then we have everything going back to 2010????????????????? greyhoundp
Well done to the Heathens, that should be enough of a lead to defend, The Islanders tried hard, but gradually fell behind as the meeting progressed, i really hope its not the last we have seen of them, bcuz i enjoy my visits down there. proud panther
Big crowd & brilliant atmosphere, but awful racing in my opinion. Unsure whether that was down to the track, which appeared to be deep but slick, or the huge gulf in the quality of the 2 teams. Think Dudley should go Premier League next season & start their team building with Morris & Blackbird at reserve.
morganbike
A very unfair and insulting post panther.
proud panther
So you think the teams were evenly matched last night ? A full strength IOW team could have possibly improved the racing, but the team was weak due to injuries.
morganbike
Lee Payne scored about what Darryl would have Downs matched Stoneman RR for Johnson scored more than the rider himself would have All based on previous performances. The track was mint considering by heat 4 the IOW were ahead.
Jonny the spud
If the rumours that the IOW wont be riding next year due to the sir fence issue, what clubs would be interested in their riders for 2014 ?
proud panther
Morganbike, you haven't answered the question whether you thought the 2 teams were evenly matched last night. Wolverhampton is a difficult track for away teams who have young inexperienced riders, & Dudleys top 4 all ride it really well. IOW were leading after 4 heats due to e/f & falls.
