Edinburgh V Somerset Plpo Final 1st Leg 25/10/13 7.30

Where does poor old Tabaka lie in the Edinburgh averages? I can only see Fricke and the reserves taking his rides and they will most probably not get as many as he would. But in saying that, his last 2 visits have only yielded 5 and 7.

Tabaka is 4th in the averages which gives Vissing, Fricke and the reserves extra rides.

I don't see anything on the Monarchs Chatzone Updates, that is biased or inaccurate, the way the racing went. Nothing to cry into your spilled pint or get yer rocks-off on. Perhaps looking for something where there is nothing. Just the interpretation of quick texting to the updaters. I don't see anything derogatory on the Heat 9 incident. Maybe you should look at the Edinburgh Evening News report, by Monarchs biggest critic. That'll make your eyes water.

Nick Morris' "pulled locker", all legal and above when defending your position. Rider racing same line and reeling him in. Morris exiting turn 4 on the run-in to the flag, makes himself "big" to make the chasing rider have to go further out, off the line and around.

Liam Carr was off gate 2 and, while not physically moved out, but tried to go round the outside when he came off and was excluded.

p.s. apologies, I can't seem to work the quote things on here.

p.p.s. I luv the brmm-brmms. I'm motorbike dafte, Ye ken !!!

I thought Edinburgh did very well to bounce back to get a lead from this match considering the damage to man and machine.

The track staff did a quite miraculous job in merely getting this fixture on and the track looked superb.

Super effort by Somerset to get so close to an away win and the task looks very close to impossible for Edinburgh but this bunch of riders never give up and will fight to the end. They've pulled off some remarkable results this season. Now for one last push...

If extra motivation were required I'm sure the Monarchs' thoughts will be with wee Joe Tabaka. His crash was truly horrific and I wish him well for his speedy recovery.

What a difference a year makes... after some great effort in fielding a superb team and improving the race night experience at Armadale the promotion were rewarded again by a fantastic crowd.

Fingers crossed for decent weather on Monday as the Monarchs supporter's buses will be heading down for this one as well as numerous getting there by plane, train and automobile...

No doubt that play offs bring in done extra dosh - the point I was trying to make is that speedway teams can't cope with injuries in the same way that most other sports can.

Having said that, Somerset might not have had many more points to make up even if Tabaka had been available. Overall they can take this by 15+ now.

And that is the problem with British speedway nowadays, we don't have the back up to replace a rider. Its either a guest or in Edinburghs case on Monday R/R. People continually talk about the posibillity of a squad system, but how do you impliment that? In the EL it would mean bringing riders into a squad from abroad, now im sure to a certain extent this could be done in the PL, but rider avaliabillity is going to be a problem.

I was watching the nick Morris incident from the home straight when you saw the replay on the video screen he made a very serious misjudgement as there was no way he was going to pass tabaka, then Charles wright in heat 14 squaring up to the start marshal, he should have been excluded

Watching the Morris incident from 3rd looking straight down the back straight it was obvious that Morris was going to attempt and outside pass as he had attempted on the previous lap and misjudged it when Joe entered the bend on the inside and hit his back wheel causing the crash IMO it was a racing incident.Wish Joe a speedy recovery. Dave Kinvig reporting of the incident is a disgrace IMO telling readers that Nick seen red mist when Joe passed him on the second bend .Claus and Joe had been leading the race from the off.Totally biased reporting.Probably wasn't even there!!!
