Edinburgh V Somerset Plpo Final 1st Leg 25/10/13 7.30

Recommended Posts

Joe had had an exclusion and a 2nd and was ahead of Morris when he was put through the fence.

So again it raises the question what difference could he have made tonight even if he'd scored 6 points from his 3rd and 4th rides?

However the bigger effect will be on Monday when I don't think r/r is going to rack up the double figures Joe would probably have picked up.

Still 15 heats to go, anything can happen, and the Monarchs have shown already this season what they can do when their backs are to the wall.

Indeed there are 15 heats to go but I wouldn't bet 50p of your money that Edinburgh would be able to keep it close without Tabaka.

Claus, Max & reserve(s) are not going to score what Joe would have.

Max has gone off the boil recently and I think Deek didn't trouble the scorers the last time there.

Somerset may well deserve the title I don't dispute that.

It's just a shame that some dangerous riding (referees words) has spoiled the spectacle and put Joe in hospital.

Well he was in heat 9 tonight

from where I was standing he was attempting to go round Joe and misjudged it and was rightly excluded don't think it was a deliberate attempted to knockHim off took a hard fall himself.Love the Chatzone report for Ht 14 all moved out and Carr fell and was ex this time ,forgot to mention that Carr was on the inside of the other 3 riders and lost control all by Himself and fell.

Maybe next year!

Well done to Somerset who in my eyes are all ready champions after there performance tonight. there is no chance we are going to be able to go down there on Monday and keep it within 2 points! not a chance.

We as a team were just not good enough tonight lacked speed and poor out of gate at times as well. In saying that I thought Vissing had one of his best Armadale performances of the season as well.

Heat 14 killed us tonight as we might have stood a chance with Tabaka in the race but the 2 reserves v Josh and Wright we didn't really have a chance but not a lot can be done about it now.

Now onto the heat 9 incident. Probably the worst crash ever to happen at Armadale it was sickening to watch. To be honest I wouldn't say that Mr Morris (as much as I dislike the boy) would diliberatly try and take out another rider that is stupid.

I was standing on the 3rd bend and Joe was infront with Nick just behind him going into the corner. Nick then tried to Move to the outside to try and make a pass and mistimed it pretty badly you could say clipped Joe's back wheel which straightened him up and catapulted him at some speed through the fence.

At the end of the day it was a racing incident in a Play-off final which could of happened to anyone.

Just hope wee Joe is okay as he is supposed to be getting married in a few weeks!

Good.

Saves me having to reply.

I notice others see it differently more mis - judged than malicious but you will see what you want to see as it probably suits

Firstly all the best wishes to Tabaka - whatever the rights and wrongs of the Morris move the most important point is his well being.

In truth his withdrawal had little impact on last nights score - perhaps 1 point.

However r/r at Somerset will make the Monarchs weaker - they may now lose by 24 rather than 20. wink!

Dangerous riding is dangerous riding.

I didn't say he set out to put Joe in hospital but he was disqualified for dangerous riding.

Joe has a compound fracture to his tibia shin bone (from monarchs website) which is a disaster but given the speed he went through the fence at is amazing that is all that is wrong with him.

Missing him on Monday makes it incredibly difficult for monarchs to get anywhere near Somerset but you never know, we'll go with optimism and belief but will need a big chunk of luck.

As for the crash in real time from the track it looked like nick did it intentionally and had the red mist come down after Joe took him with a hard (but fair) move on the previous bend. I saw a very brief clip in the bar afterwards and it didn't look as malicious but it was reckless and dangerous.

Tough luck on Tabaka as he's had a decent season with the Monarchs.

Must admit though Id find it difficult to believe that Morris would deliberately take Tabaka through the fence,IMO there's probably only one person who would know that and that's Morris himself.

Hope joe tabaka has a speedy recovery. I was at the meeting and the accident happened right in front of me, joe got passed nick going down the straight and pulled a locker turning into turn 3 and nick - who was pushing on to get passed him again - could not do anything but take out joes back wheel. How any so called speedway supporter can say nick is dirty or deliberately took joe out is an absolute joke!!. As for the so called supporters reaction to nick and Charles wright is shocking, some things never change at Armadale. Racing is racing and accidents happen!!. Glad to see all clubs have to have safety fences after that anyway. However Scott Wilson superb again, definitely the best announcer going about

Apart from heat 9 Edinburgh lost heat 8 to Kyle [who was last in 2 previous outings] and Charles and Somerset had a point deducted in heat 4 also heat 12 when Monarchs had a chance of taking a 5 1 but could not get past Alex in the slowest time of the night. How Mr Blobby thinks it was Claus best meeting begars belief only had one good ride in heat 3 . Cookie was his usual self and apart from Theo early doors IMO the rest of the Monarchs were well below par.

Tabaka's injury is the perfect example of why Play-offs don't work in speedway. They are great events when they do, but this makes a difficult task for Edinburgh even harder, through no fault of their own.

Good luck to Tabaka - whichever leg it is, the shin is a horrible bone to break.

Accidents happen every week. As much as everybody feels sorry for Tabaka and nobody wants to see any rider seriously hurt that doesn't mean to say the play off'd don't work. They do, it brings in very good revenue for the clubs involved, and creates optimisum for the fans.

My only concern is the PL play off's are a little long winded.

Well happy with 2 points difference to bring back on Monday. Can't say about the heat 9 incident as I wasn't there but I don't think that nick would intentionally do it. Plus this meeting was always going to be hard fought Craig Cook admitted that. All the best to jo tabaka lets hope monday is on.

Monday doesn't look to good, tuesdays a bit iffy, but Wednesday looks the best. If Ez can roll the track that will help, but it still depends on the Weather, as you know, it can change by the day.. Best to keep an i on your website.
