drew2
What are the thoughts on the match? Could be close if we look at my thoughts, although I do hope for a few more points from Deek at reserve, and Santa and Theo Cookie 14 Max 6 Santa 7 Jozsef 7 Theo 7 Liam 2 Deek 7 Total 50 Jason 11 although he only scored 6+1 on last visit Kyle 3 Alex 3 Josh 9 Nick 9 Charles 5 Oliver 0 Total 40 At Somerset it could be closer Jason 14 Kyle 5 Alex 5 Josh 10 Nick 10 Charles 6 Oliver 3 Total 49 Cookie 11 Max 6 Santa 7 Jozsef 5 Theo 6 Liam 1 Deek 6 Total 41 Again Derek at reserve maybe the extra that the Monarch need, but maybe toooooo close to call!!!!! Obviously you never seen this Rebels side race at home then! Got to be joking with only 11 points from Alex and Wrighty combined at the OTA, more likely to be closer to double that figure. Either Josh or Nick will have more than 10 from 5 rides i would expect as well. Sneddon may score 6 if he remembers his stabilzers, think he had a coconut last time he came to Somerset so unlikely i fear. I think we may have Lewis Rose back at reserve as well for both legs. Must admit the weather forecast doesn't look good for Monday. I will say one thing with my Rebels hat on. There is no way, if the weather intervienes this weekend the Rebels settle for the first leg, by right, they get the second leg. There is talk, of Edinbourgh staging there leg on the Saturday night, if posible, and if, the forcast is right for Monday then it will be touch and go for Somersets home leg. If that is the case, then Edinbourgh should run Friday week, and the Rebels run Monday week, everything being equal.. Thats just my guess, but whatever happens Somerset should finish with the second leg, no questions.. Again with my Rebels hat on, i really do hope that the Rebels win over the two legs, it will be compensation for Garry Bish and the Hancocks for last year, losing to a last race decider. But, it will not be a walk in the park, and if they want it, they are going to have to work for it, there will be no short cuts.. Best of luck to both clubs.. Never ever going to happen as the season won't be extended. Edinburgh must have the option of Friday, Saturday or Sunday to get their leg in as Somerset have got Monday til Thursday onwards avaialble for the second leg (as specially agreed by the local council following the refusal from the opposition to allow their usual Friday race night to be used). I know Doyley (on the 5th i think) and probably a few others already have flights booked back to Oz in first few days of November that i sure won't be changed. Oh dear Starman, obviously not a local to Somerset and the Burnham on Sea area then. Can anyone remind me of what is happening in Somerset from November 2nd in Bridgwater and arrives in Burnham on Monday the 4th November??? CARNIVAL SEASON! Roads are closed all around BOS and Highbridge from early evening that day including the main A38 outside the track between 6.30ish and midnight. Even if the roads were open the promotion would never in their right mind try and run against that. Edited October 24, 2013 by drew2

Taylorj
Which is why , if we continue with play-offs , we must start the league programme at the beginning of April and have the cut off date at the end of August . The play-offs can be contested during the month of September , with the League Cup as an end of season tournament . To have the title decided on weather affected tracks at the fag end of the season is ludicrous . Actually play-offs were un-necessary this year because we had an exciting end to the league campaign between 4 or 5 clubs anyway . If both legs of the final are washed out this weekend , Somerset should be declared champions as they topped the league . Couldn't agree more with your first point mate. You should have maybe a couple of challenges to give the boys a good blow middle end of march, then straight into the league programme. This should also apply to the EL. I do feel the play off's are a must, as they do bring in good revenue for the clubs involved, but i do feel the PL play off's need to be re-structured. They are to long winded.. Totally agree here, the League should be the start of the season with the playoffs, and KOC/League cup to finish off. Such a shame for all teams to fight it out all season to end on such an anti climax like this , what a farce, same with the EL, look at the dissapointment of the Brummies/Poole final , the track was awful and produced a mediocre meeting . Really needs looking into at the AGM
kbt
Why can't we have have a one legged match at a neutral track, easier to fit one match in,instead of two.
cyclone
Re weather, this was posted on Edinburgh website at 2.35pm :- " the rain is off and it's not coming back, and the sun is shining at the track! Online tickets are still available if anyone was wavering while the weather around the country looked threatening. "
Starman2006
Nope not local to Burnham on sea. Although im very suprised at the lack of Somerset fans on this thread for your biggest weekend of the season!!! Lets hop they can do something with the track tonight, a little bit of sawdust won't go a miss i would think. In an ideal world Somerset need to take the meeting to Edinbourgh..
