A training camp was held last weekend at Ylitornio. It ended with an individual meeting that Aakko won with max poinst before Järf on 14 and Tani on 13. Aakko was already going to St Johan, Järf looks set for the 2nd Finnish slot. If he wants it. Tani most probably next in line. Pretty confident that this trio will also ride for Finland in the team WC later on this season. All depends though if they themselves want to do it.

Yes was great to see Järf do well,but will he ride overseas this season?Thought he lacked the money last year.Have things changed?And was also good to see the next Aakko generation training as well

Looks like the warn winter Russian Weather is playing havoc with the fixtures - well at -5'C it's warm for a Russian Winter .

 

Last weekend's Premier League Meeting in Novosibisrk was called off and moved to March (much to the annoyance of two of my friends who went there!).

 

The Russian Championship Semi Finals in Ufa, Sterlitamak and Shadrinsk have all been moved to the weekend of 21/22nd December.

 

The Semi Final in Novosibirsk will go ahead this weekend (14/15th December) as practice was today, and all went well according to the Russian Forum.

 

No news as to a TV link yet, but I'll post one if I find one.

I suppose it is a matter of definition but I see on the Speedway Star Travel club blurb they state the meeting will start early evening on Saturday. I had a mail from Russian Motor Federation however confirming heat 1 will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday so more of an afternoon.

 

Tickets available on the day from 200 - 500 roubles £4 - £10 approx.

Craig Ackroyd told me that the Russians prefer to hold the meetings during the day as it can get 'a bit nippy' once the lights go. Considering he was telling me it was -20 during the meeting, I think it was a bit of an understatement!

Yes.A photographer friend of mine from Bydgoszcz/ Hamburg also had problems with the police because of his cameras.So good luck conkers

Conkers - we are all booked to go to the Ice Racing in Sanok for the first time at the end of the month but the weather is +7 at the moment.

Will the racing be called off if the temperature is too high or is there an under track cooling system to guarantee the meeting is on??

There is an under track cooling system.Think if i remember rightly the first year they had problems,but since then it has worked fine

If i remember correctly wasn't some of the cooling pipes too close to the surface the first year and there was a danger that the spikes would come into contact and ruin it?
