RedcarRacer
Rider A - adds 2.95 to his average Rider B - drops by 0.38 Rider B wins rider of the year... Give me strength... Redcar fans hang your heads in shame, if it was was not for Micky Dyer - we would have been in the bottom two this season. Yes Micky had a bad finish, but for God's sake he was our saviour! Whilst I like Hugh Skidmore, he was in no way Rider of the Year. What a disgrace. Thanks Micky, some of us won't forget the season you had, reserve to number one, something we have never seen at the STMP. mikebaker
Probably down to likeability factor. Last years won by Wilko. What did he achieve last year, Half a dozen decent meetings at the end of the season, A win in a Havelock cost cutting exercise "Silver Helmet Meeting". RedcarRacer
I think the mighty Ken Brockman best summed it up when saying: " I've said it before, and I'll say it again: democracy simply doesn't work." http://www.youtube.c...h?v=IrtLjWb0Fmo Edited October 14, 2013 by RedcarRacer

RedcarRacer
Dyer wont be back, Skidmore I'd imagine is nailed on.... And? We know Micky is going elsewhere, that doesnt mean he isnt the true Rider of the Year!
The White Knight
And? We know Micky is going elsewhere, that doesnt mean he isnt the true Rider of the Year! If you have a name like 'Hugh Skidmore' that in itself deserves to give you the Rider of the year Title. The name perfectly describes Speedway.

RedcarRacer
Well he has sold all his gear, but was told a deal for him was already in place with another PL side.
northyorksbear
Well he has sold all his gear, but was told a deal for him was already in place with another PL side. If true and Redcar fans were aware of this then maybe you've hit on a reason why some 300 votes were cast for other riders and Micky only got a third of total votes, not saying it is what the poll should be about but fans have different views on what makes a "rider of the year" Edited October 15, 2013 by northyorksbear

Bear_Bottom
Hugh Skidmore 36.7% Micky Dyer 34.7% If Hugh Skidmore beat Micky Dyer by 2% and If Hugh Skidmore beat Micky Dyer by 9 votes then If that makes the total number of votes 450 then Did Hugh Skidmore beat Micky Dyer by 165.15 votes to 156.15??? My maths may well be wrong but the result is still right!
