Rebels 2014

how can it be chequebook speedway when the entry fee at worky was only 13 pounds and a free race card. so that means that worky have one of the biggest group of supporters going through the gates. . or we have a VERY rich owner who is speedway fan/.get over the doyle thing and be prepared for some BIG losses along the wat.. doyle should never have been allowed to ride pl as he was signed this year as a no 1 in the el.. come on the revels..

Unless I`m mistaken I thought the position of the No 1 in any team has to be the rider with the highest average, so if the lions had signed a rider with a higher average than Jason then surely in your world that would be ok and JD would be "eligible" to compete in the Prem. He was also announced in the Rebels team before the Lions.

Agree cliffeboy good supporters should stay with their team through good and indifferent we havent had good yet at plymouth but i remain hopeful!

You have a goodun in Kyle Newman, 100% every race.

Ain't Brady Kurtz just injured his shoulder/collarbone or was I seeing things

Where have you seen this Phil?

If it is the case then hopefully its not serious. As critical as I have been about the saga around his average I am actually looking forward to seeing him in the PL.

From everything that has been said about him and the few bits I have seen on Youtube it seems likely he will add something to the league.

Fickle lot you rebels fans if you only want to support a table topping team old timer!

No, fickle is changing the riders you support based on the race jacket they wear. Speedway fans are fickle, they hate a rider one season but he signs for them the year after and they love him.

Just as well as I don't think Somerset and their fans can take much more bad news!!

Unfortunately I think crowds will drop at Oak Tree this year, people will turn up at start of season to see Brady, but if he does not perform, it will be difficult to gather much enthusiasm for this team after last years success. I cannot see myself cheering Olly or Todd as they try to overtake Josh or Kyle, or Alex or Nick (if he gets a double up club) when they visit the Oak Tree. Not Somerset's fault just the way speedway is run. The League this year will also be more of a farce than last season, not content with double tacticals in Play Offs, we now have teams choosing two other teams to play, destroying all credibility in the league.

How long have you followed speedway OT? Rarely does any team retain that many riders for the following season, successful or not. Circumstances have acted against the Somerset club this winter but the 7 riders in a Rebels racesuit come March will be doing their best for the club. 2013's success would have been unlikely to be repeated even if the same 7 that finished the job in October could have come to the tapes. In Garry May we have one of the best managers in the league and he will undoubtably get the best out of whoever is riding for us. I don't personally share you view of crowds dropping off as i hope we are Somerset speedway fans and not some gloryhunters. I am looking forward to seeing some great racing as we always do at the Oak Tree Arena.

think you will find the track in the town and in walking distance of the usual things that towns have. it is possible you were at north side training track by mistake. but even the training track has more going for it than the sommerset track.remind me again. where is the rebels track again. oh. i know. its in a FIELD.

i have no doubt it has great stuff going for it and is a great race track as well .. never been so i cant pass a COMmEnT. ..UNLIKE SOME WHO DIS OTHER CLUBS AND CANT REMEMBER WHERE IT WES . eh gav..

Lol - how can these two posts even be made within such a short space of eachother?

You're normally a moron at the best of times, but you've excelled yourself somewhat with this latest effort.

I do still believe Workington will win nothing, yes - Why in your mind you thought us signing Ty Proctor would effect that, I don't know.

Given the amount of money they've splashed out on the team this year I'd be very disappointed if they don't win anything this year if I was a Worky fan.

Heard a similar thing myself - chequebook Speedway of the highest order.

what is it with Workington fans and bitterness to all other clubs?

Have you ever been to Workington? :)

i have yes in the middle of blinking nowhere the track is!!!!

Oh you lot do keep me entertained during the close season :lol::D

Thought you watched most of his races on the updates site?? :)

Ha ha Ars onfire how can you Watch a race on the updates site. I have a lot of very good friends down Somerset way who keep me well informed on all of our riders performances, an opinion I back up myself when I get the opportunity to go myself.I`m guessing from the mode of your post that you are fortunate enough to be able to attend most of your clubs meetings, lucky you.I was in a similar position a couple of years ago but not now unfortunately, but while the forum remains an avenue for supporters to air their opinions I will.

IMO Kyle Newman is a goodun and always gives 100%.
