Crazy robin
From what I am reading elsewhere Nick Morris does not want to ride for Swindon and has put in a transfer request, he says a move will further his career and has been approached by Leicester. Gary May said the main reason for releasing Nick was the matches he would be missing as Swindon had first call on his services. I assume if Nick left Swindon then like Doyle at Leicester, Somerset would have first call. Unless Nick has suddenly made this decision why did he not tell Gary he wanted a move from Swindon, we could have kept Nick and changed Olly. Would not be surprised if Nick ended up at Leicester with Doyle, in the Star it says Leicester are looking for a new team manager, now I wonder who that might be? Nick has not said he doesn't want to ride for Swindon only that he wants to ride in both Leagues & with Swindon being a Thursday club it makes this impossible.
Reliant Robin
If the Doyle / Visa situation can't be resolved then I can see it being Swindon & Somerset as originally planned. As mentioned above, this means Somerset would be entitled to a guest when Morris is missing rather than R/R when the initial decision to drop Morris was taken. Would still like to see Doyley's issue resolved, after the couple of seasons he has had it would be awful for him to have to miss a year.

montie
Did you know that the UK banking industry has 10 times more bankers with a £1M+ salary than either Germany or France? And what have they actually done to earn huge bonuses? Wow i didnt know that---but its made my day--we have more huge tax payers and the best guys are working in UK rather than France or Germany And what you should look at what is happening in France since that socialist pric k took charge its a good job we do have them--he has killed the recovery -spending what he aint got I work alot in France and now the credit there is drying up again--- market for us there was down 23 % on the 12 months---the UK showed growth for us of 12% anyway im off to pay my tax bill on my 2013 bonus, then spent the rest---

Crazy robin
How would he be a Poole asset?? That was so obvious that he'd be a Poole asset as most riders who have average issues end up their:-) Edited January 16, 2014 by Crazy robin
Starman2006
How would he be a Poole asset?? Naturally, all riders become Poole assets, it written into every riders contract..
Cliffeboy
Was more referring to the complete lack of communication coming out of the Rebels camp to either quash rumours or confirm, or at least give an update to the Doyle situation. For what it's worth I think the correct decision has been made on Davies regardless of his visa issues and he should benefit having a season away from Somerset. However, a Somerset team without Jason Doyle almost seems unthinkable now. Agree.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Anyone care to explain how he would be a Poole asset??Paranoia!! A Brit can be signed by an EL club as an asset without the requirement to ride a minimum number of meetings. Eg Adam Ellis - Lakeside. This is no longer applicable to non Brit riders so it depends whether Brady is accepted as a Brit as to whether it is a possibilty in this case. Because he was once seen in Poole standing within 100yards of Matt Ford :-) not by you though I take it!
lewy
somerset were quite happy to class him as a brit when they thought he could start the season with a 3pt ave bit of karma i think
SteveLyric2
Because he was once seen in Poole standing within 100yards of Matt Ford :-) It was much less than 100 yards!! The offices and the grandstand at Poole aren't that big!!!

oldtimer
Nick has not said he doesn't want to ride for Swindon only that he wants to ride in both Leagues & with Swindon being a Thursday club it makes this impossible. Somerset is a Friday club, so what's the problem? According to the fixture list Somerset are meeting Newcastle home and away in something called the Premier Shield. And then the stupid bit, they meet Rye House and Plymouth twice home and away in The League. Plymouth visit The Oak Tree 4 times next season a challenge, LC, twice in the League and any KOC or Play Off's if they both qualify. We can only hope we do better at Plymouth then last season.
