Rebels 2014

Recommended Posts

Todd Kurtz signed for Newport in 2010 on a 3.00 average, one of his grandparents was Scottish. He had every right to.

In the 2011/2012 winter he took part in the Aussie champs and lost his right for his 2.5 deduction. Newport threatened to close because of this but we all know that was just a smoke screen.

What would happen though if a young, 100% Brit went and raced in the Danish super league before deciding to ride here? Would his average be 3.00 or more?

When was Brady 16? Maybe he raced in Denmark as a 15 year old, which they allow, and the BSPA rules dont state what a rider under the age of 16 can/cant comepete in.

All confusing but theres bound to be an explination.... I dont think him racing in Aussie under 21 titles means anything as Todd Kurtz done that and still got his reduction, it was the senior title that lost him his redudction.

Mark Blackwell did as you suggest, rode in the Danish League in the late 90s and when he wanted to ride PL was told it would have to be as an 8 point rider as the rules say. I don't see why it would be any different now. The rules says, GP rider or SWC final = EL 8. Rode in a pro-league then it's PL 7. Rode NL then it's a 3, otherwise it's 5.

I agree. In the case of Henning I think he eventually got a 5 which was still a bit high for him. Henning only rode 2 meetings as a reserve, to see how he did and then he came over to the UK. If Brady has done 12 + 2 meetings in Danish leagues, he should get a higher average.

Henning was a 7

No mention of either Kurtz brothers in the Aussie Championship field for 2014.

But both rode in the Australian U-21 Championship Final in Kurri Kurri on 19th January, 2013.

This is a National Championship restricted to Australian nationals aged under 21, btw ;)

I'm not comfortable with this 'Poole of the PL' tag we seem to have acquired. Let's take Brady on a 5, swap Allen for a six-pointer (Jorgensen?) and silence these 'cheats don't prosper' merchants. We'll still be right up there again next year, whether Brady's on a 3, a 5 or even a 7!

IF, that is the case, I for once agree with you. Your taking a big chance on Allen. But lets just wait and see what happens..

That is not correct Josh Auty rode in 2010, it's up to MA who they select in the meeting, it's not a closed meeting ,neither is the senior title.

So as usual drop the brit for a foreigner, watch out charlie and paul

Behave yourself! Drop the injury-prone, potentially weakest link in the side that will allow you to sign a straight replacement without having to re-jig the whole team! He just happens to be British in this instance.

The Aussie titles are a red herring, he rode in the Danish League. Thats a professional league, that makes him a 7. Also, he didn't ride in the NL so she can't be a 3.

Quite agree that this issue is about the riding in a senior professional League in Denmark. The OZ titles bit is mainly an expectation thing, and usually to give an indication as to what he thinks he is, an OZ or a Brit.
