Only in speedway

montie
Didnt Todd lose his 2.5% reduction when at newport for riding in Aussie Champs???
RHayes
http://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/sport/9530782.Newport_Wasps_co_promoter_calls_it_a_day/ Might be worth a read in particular the first couple of paragraphs re. patriality. http://speedwayresults.com/result.php?type=538&season=2013 <- Danish League meeting this year, he beat Kenneth Bjerre yet he's a 3.00 for 2014 o.O
JCookie
Surprising to see the league champions put out a poor-ish side. Wright, Starke and T Kurtz, deary me.
whowasthatberntpersson
Brady Kurtz is the most highly rated Aussie since Chris Holder, he could quite easily be challenging for a heat leader spot fairly quickly, so that bit of a tail would be outweighed. If he doesn't click ...well.
gusworld
Very top heavy with a big trump card in Brady and Todd & Charles can add a point or so to their average so the Rebels will be favourites again!
2ndbendbeerhut
So how can Brady Kurtz start on a 3? (He competed in the New South Wales U21 Championships in Kurri Kurri in Occtober) and also in a professional league this year Danish div 1. 17.2.2 The Assessed MA's for new Riders to the EL /PL racing is: Cat 2: Riders with an “end of the previous season’s published average” in the Polish Ekstraliga or Swedish Elitserien of 6.00 and below plus ALL other Riders riding currently in any Professional Speedway League, PL 7.00 Cat 4: Commonwealth and USA (to a maximum of 4 each season) Riders new to British Speedway PL 5.00 Cat 5: Riders who have ridden in the National Development League as an Amateur PL 3.00 And also how does his brother Todd get a reduction as he rode in the Australian National Championships in Jan this year... but did compete in the NL in 2011 Edited December 5, 2013 by 2ndbendbeerhut
gusworld
I think the rules are there to be bent. That's Speedway!
2ndbendbeerhut
I think the rules are there to be bent. That's Speedway! But how can they be? He has ridden in 2 matches in Denmark's "Elite" league and 13 in their 2nd tier. Its bad enough that he would be classed as a Cat 4 on a 5.00 ave but now it seems he "qualifies" as a Cat 2 rider and thats a full 4 points off his ave! whowasthatberntpersson
I'm not sure whether Brady and Todd have British passports, if they do they cannot be discriminated against, there lies the loophole I do believe.
Arson fire
Surely Todd can't get a reduction?? Didnt the Bspa say he waved that by riding in aus champs...and that's why Newport were up in arms??
Arson fire
I'm not sure whether Brady and Todd have British passports, if they do they cannot be discriminated against, there lies the loophole I do believe.how can they ride in aus champs if they are british then?? whowasthatberntpersson
Duel citizenship, loads of Aussie residents have it.
2ndbendbeerhut
Ok so British passport would get Brady on a 3.00, but as stated before Todd was refused a reduction in 2011/2 so why would he receive one now?
Arson fire
So if he's classed as british.... He can ride in NL??.... Thus being then able to ride in EL??..., rabbit off here like Duel citizenship, loads of Aussie residents have it.so he's not a full Brit then.... But gets all the perks as though he is one
Statman
Todd Kurtz hasn't received a reduction, his average in the Final averages on BSPA site showing him as 4.92 is incorrect, his average was confirmed at the AGM as being 4.85.
