Great Central
What a great victory for the Islanders. Both teams were hit by non availability of riders with 4 previous rain offs and it looked like the top end strength of the Tigers plus the R/R facility for Armstrong would be the key to success, but the Islanders had a superb guest in Joe Jacobs who rode brilliantly for his 14 points. Terrific meeting which could have gone either way. Well done to the Mildenhall track staff and promotion again for getting a raceable track.Yes it slickened off towards the end but after so much rain in the past few days who could complain about its' condition. .
waco
The key to this result was Cris Widmans 11 points from reserve coupled with Joe Jacobs dominence at the top end for the I.O.W..A nail biting meeting for both sets of fans ,,good performances from Halsey ,,Morley (excellent guest,) and Nielsen for mildenhall...And Ben Hopwood providing excellent back up to Jacobs for I.O.W ...Who just about deserved the victory with their unexpected 5-1 in heat 15... The track was the slickest i have seen it as it was nescessary to remove a large amount of shale from the track due to the weather conditions of late, making passing difficult many races seeing the top two in the race half the track in front of the lower order riders ,but this was by its nature still an entertaining meeting....Whether the final will get completed before the cut off date,, due in the main i feel to the incompetence of the league co-ordinator remains to be seen.?
TMW
To be fair to Mildy the pressure was on them with it being the 2nd leg as the pressure was on the Islanders in the 1st run. The 2nd leg at home is always difficult. The Islanders just had to ride with no expectations the Tigers HAD to win. I can't see the final being completed either which is sad.
