Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg

Recommended Posts

A few cocky Poole fans on here  As the saying goes "pride comes before a fall". While I don't think it will happen and Poole will win - a bit of humility goes a long way - just saying!!

No cockiness from me mate,im not counting my horses, er, sorry chickens until its done..

Top stuff. ;)

Im certainly not advercating its all over, but it would be nice if your promotuion would give some sort of incentive as far as admission goes, Because the nature of the beast is some of your fans are going to turn to Sky.. But as I said, im certainly not counting my chickens, although its a big ask Your boys are very good round your place.. on the same token, I would gurrantee, our boys will be going intio the meeting with the right attitude..

How many chickens have you got to count Starry? :P

I have no control on how much the Brum promotion wish to charge entrance fee I'm afraid, however you can gain a bit of a discount if you book in advance:-

Those are the sort of "fans" a team don't need! I was at Wimborne Road on Monday and will be at Perry Barr next Monday - whatever the overall result, they're my team, they got to the final and I'm immensely proud of them

Hope you said the same thing to Swindon fans last year and at the start of the season! Lol!

I don't think Swindon fans were bad to be honest. If anything we were provoked by the Poole fans insisting it was a hollow victory and Poole would have won if it wasn't for injuries. Interesting that it's Poole fans again though

A have a few things to say and will have to apologise if I get some spelling wrong as I am using my phone to post.

Firstly I want to congratulate my fellow Brummie supporters for the manner in which they have bore the horrendous first leg defeat. They have, in the main been stoic. The vast majority on the brummies site have been positive and while we understand the gigantic task in front if us no one is giving in just yet

I have found many of the postings on here (though by no means all) by Poole fans to be in poor taste and I would like to remind those already celebrating that nothing has yet been won. It is my hope that at the very least we give you a scare in Monday. (we have done it once before in the KOC against Eastbourne.)

For those of you safrican americaning about our financial difficulties Ithink you will find that we have gone a long way in the right direction. We have increased our fan base by 30 percent this year.can you name any club in the British league that can say the same?

For those crowing about how good (sic) that Matt Ford is, well Birmingham has a pretty good management team to. After battling all year we have finally started getting local TV coverage for instance.and we also have excellent local newspaper coverage.not bad when you consider what we are up against. Aston villa. Birmingham city.wolves.west brom. Warwickshire county cricket. Basketball.ice hockey also feature in this great city of ours. I would like to see how Matt Ford would survive with that competition!

The Brummies, my team, my great and historic team have also been invited to a civic reception with the lord Mayor something that I am extremely proud of.

And pride is mine and most brummie supporters over riding feelings at this moment. pride in our team, in what they have achieved and the manner in which they have achieved it. Proud because we know that winning is NOT the be all and end all. How you win and how you lose is more important.

Win with honour and lose with dignity.

Oh and by the way. For those of you suggesting that Birmingham should put our prices down. That would be an admission of defeat. No one has won anything yet.

Win with honour and lose with dignity.

Tell me, what was honorable or dignified about the Brummies' management's conduct over Ben Barker?

If you think agreeing to buy Barker and then turning around a month before the end of the season and saying you are not going to bother is being honorable then you have a different definition of the word to mine!

January 2013:

"I am absolutely delighted to announce that Ben Barker is, with immediate effect, an asset of this club and it goes without saying that he will be riding for Birmingham this coming season and for many more, I hope," said Brummies co-owner Alan Phillips.

August 2013:

"The directors of Birmingham Speedway have today reluctantly decided, after careful consideration, not to pursue the full transfer of Ben Barker from Coventry in the immediate future. This will be reviewed at a later date.” (Speedwaygp.com).

"It's very disappointing that Birmingham have been unable to fulfill their financial obligations regarding the Ben Barker transfer and Ben therefore reverts back to being a Coventry asset with immediate effect." - Mick Horton.

Your attempts at portraying Brummies as having some sort of moral high ground are laughable.
