Edinburgh 2014

Recommended Posts

It would be good if Sam came in, and he has indicated he may be over, Charles, maybe not after his reaction in the play off at the Dale, and Islanders team takes it to 45.46, so no chance

Blooby, we may need to go with a young reserve pairing to accommodate Cookie, and you have to remember Carr took heat wins in both play off matches, and Josh had a really good meeting against the Rebels including beating Jason Doyle

Thats if Berwick are in the same league as Edinburgh next year! ;)

So Edinburgh are going EL,you heard it here 1st.

Cook has said himself he wants to double up again next year so don't think we need to worry about getting a new number 1

With the size of average Cook has that decision might be taking out of his hands, also,if Cook wants to make something of his career as I believe he does would another season in the PL benefit the lad,he already proved in season 2013 that he was the best around.

Cookie is hero worshiped at Armadale. So I'd imagine if he wants to race for Edinburgh in 2014 he'd be given an offer he couldn't refuse.

Max is in a similar boat as Cookie.

Joe Tabaka must have had his name penciled in to the 2014 team prior to his sickening injury. Hopefully his injury allows him to join in 2014. He's another who is a firm favourite at the Dale.

Personally I'd like Derek Sneddon to stay as well. Derek is a very positive influence on the team and pulled out some terrific point scores this season on the road at times.

Beyond that I don't really know but I'm sure the promotion will have a good team lined up to ride in the Blue & Gold.

Can see Theo going back down the road to the wee team. But would like to see us line up something along these lines

1. Cook 10.52

2. Sneddon 5.52

3. Tabaka 6.00

4. Fricke 5.80

5. Masters 7.43

6. Carr/ Davey 3.00

7. 4.21 to play with for a final rider

If CC is serious about his career progression, would you have not thought that he should be looking at riding elaswhere in 2014 than Armadale, in particular at a bigger track along the lines of those in Poland? I think he has mastered Edinburgh now!

Cookie is trying to get a team(s) abroad as well.

But can't survive on the limited number of meetings in the EL.

You say he has mastered Edinburgh - I think his away average is better!!

Think Doyley is probably thinking along the same lines.

Doesn't do the PL any harm to have a couple of top notchers in the league.

Not Deek fan then Scotsman? I think he gives the team more than his 5.52 average

Not sold I'm afraid.

Can't see much improvement on that average and if Cookie is taking up 25% of the points limit and is not likely to improve his average much then the improvement has to come from somewhere else.

Having said that, Deek's performance at Ippo at the end of the season was most impressive.

Now if he rode like that every match........................!!!

Agree....Derek need to be more consistent, you don't know what one is turning up, he will have a good first ride, then fall away, or rubbish then good last ride.

But with the rest, I think Max could improve by 2.00/3.00 points, especially if he gets the reserve berthat Belle Vue, Joe can improve, by say 1.50/2.00 points, then the expectation would be for Cookie to improve by say 0.50 (which I'm sure is the goal that Cookie will set himself)

Also I don't think if Sam rides for us he will be happy with an average of 7.43, so I would look for that also to increase by 1.00 at least.

So lots of goals needing set, but the fans would expect that wee bit more

Would a transfer fee for Cook, if such things still exist, be a temptation?

Cash in while his stock is high?

Doubt anyone's got money for transfer fees.

Given that Cookie has stated again that he wants to double up then it's hard to imagine him not being at Edinburgh.

But a fee would pay for the air fence!

If he xfr'd to an El team I suppose it would give them priority on fixture clashes.

not under current rules.PL comes first unless the fixture is rearranged.
