robert72
Just shows how little the sport is thought of by the media in this country. I can't believe how excited fans get if the media mentions the word speedway lol Well done tai

I can't believe how excited fans get if the media mentions the word speedway lol Well done tai It is rather sad. Like clutching at straws I suppose. Tai Woffinden had a phone-to-phone interview BBC2 Radio Chris Evans Show this morning. Apart from a multitude of "you knows" by him it wasn't too bad. What puzzled me if it was phone-to-phone with Chris Evans - I thought Tai was supposed to be on BBCTV this morning but the way the radio chat came across he seemed to be at home - that was about 8.45am. Grand Central
It's going be an up-hill task to make Tai into a household name. Chris Evans, the most-listened-to radio host in the UK, can't even rely on his own listeners remembering HIS name. . Martin Merritt
Thought his interview on BBC R2 this morning was quite good, not great and clearly he had just woken up but not bad.

Yes, but his brother Keith is very well known....probably more so than his sister, Dame Edith

I wonder now, about three hours on, how many listeners recall Chris Evans' chat with Tai Woffinden?
Conkers in Gravy
I wonder now, about three hours on, how many listeners recall Chris Evans' chat with Tai Woffinden? From reading some tweets this morning I'd guess he was in a hotel in Poland but I could be wrong. I actually thought he came across rather well.
Grand Central
I wonder now, about three hours on, how many listeners recall Chris Evans' chat with Tai Woffinden? I don't know. Perhaps noone. Perhaps a thousand, ten thousand or even one million. But at least Chris has got the recognition of one extra listener. I can't quite work out your constant negativity - you're not a member of the BSPA are you? Not negative - just sad at watching speedway's ongoing decline season on season. And I can go back a long way as a spectator (and other roles ) in the sport.
John Leslie
"you know" he chatted for a while with Chris Evans - but as the saying goes "he didn't really say anything"! Our new young British World Champion, didn't mention that he'd just won the world title? Are you sure your hearing aid was switched on? Or were you expecting the world champion to talk of things other than his world title win? Our British World Champion gets a five minute interview on National radio on the biggest breakfast show in the country (which probably has listening figures to shame many TV programmes), and somebody still has to have a whinge

I wonder how articulate you are when you've just been woken up and told you are going to be interviewed on national radio? If you are brilliant at it how good are you at riding a speedway bike? If you are brilliant at it how good are you at riding a speedway bike? When National radio want to interview one it's most unusual for them just to phone you out of the blue! I did try riding a speedway bike - the fact has been chronicled in print - sadly not at world championhip level - or even good enough to get a race! But I did get on a speedway bike quite a few times in many years gone by.

Extremely negative, although you seem unaware that it comes across as such. That's a shame. This is a time to celebrate
T.N.T.
I don't like the look of his second ride in heat 5, with messrs. Hampel, Miedzinski and Kasprzak on his inside. That was the best bit of the draw for me and possibly Tai as he wanted to meet Jarek early on to get the job done early and throwing in the other two Poles was just the boost Tai needed to go out and win the heat which he did in style and thanks to the 5+ Swindon asset (8+ Poole rider), he won the title when Jarek s.lipped to third. Tai has numerous interviews and tv appearances lined up but at present he has a few things to sort out in Poland and will be back here soon and appear on BBC Breakfast as one of his appeasrances. He has a great new sponsorship deal sorted in Poland and improved one while as many will have noticed he has also signed up to MONSTER and by the time he takes to the track again over here on Tuesday 22nd at Monmore Green in the Bank's Olympique he should have contracts done to ride in Poland (Wroclaw), Sweden (Vetlanda) and Britain (Wolverhampton) for 2014
