SCB
Whether or not it's likely the fact is that needs at most six points to win the title, mathematically. I'm sure we all hope it's a lot less - I don't like the look of his second ride in heat 5, with messrs. Hampel, Miedzinski and Kasprzak on his inside. He could just roll around in heat 5. It won't matter. Edited October 5, 2013 by SCB
RobMcCaffery
He could just roll around in heat 5. It won't matter. Let's hope so. I've already seen one of that trio stain the sport twice over there this year.
george.m
I have just seen a piece about speedway on BBC Breakfast TV. As well as talking about Tai and his bid to be world champ they promised that "Tai would be on the settee if he wins." If he wins forget about settees, I hope he's on the bevvy!!! Good luck tonight Tai!
ABS
Q & A feature with Tai in the Daily Telegraph Sport Monthly. Hopefully all the press will report we have a British World Champion tomorrow.
New Science
I was a bit shocked too, but credit where it's due. Maybe a lot of positive, polite messages from us supporters thanking BBC for their coverage will see more of the same in the future. Looking forward to seeing Tai next week (assuming he gets the six points). Tai got a mention on BBC 5 live news tonight although speedways favourite media partner insisted on calling him Wolf- en- den. Hopefully Tai can retain the title to give the BBC a full 12 months to get his name right !

Catalan
Last item on sports section on BBC Breakfast was about Tai. Also talked about Tai having a broken collarbone which led to a short discussion. Maybe that is the way to go. Big up he won whilst injured very heroic!!!!! Guest
BBC Radiio News mentioned two items in its 9am edition. The Winter Olympics in Russia and the Grand Prix. It mentioned that Sebastian Vettel had increased his formidable lead in the Drivers Championship with victory in Korea!
Jonimac
I've already emailed the Independent & BBC to thank them for their coverage of Tai's win. Anything that gets our sport a higher profile has got to be good surely? I think what "gobsmacked" me was someone mentioning on here that one promoter questioned the value to British speedway of Tai winning ! Guest
Photo and small report in the Sun on Sunday. No mention that he rides for Wolves!! I saw that. It was a usual-style 'Sun" comment. A few meaningless how Tai Woffinden felt after winning the title (could have been written and place on Press hold before the meeting for what it was worth ) but not a real report. All tucked away on an early page in a bottom left hand corner. I also browsed three other Sundays (I was in WHS and never buy them) but did not see any mention of the Speedway GP in them. I guess that's the end of major Press coverage for this year! Edited October 6, 2013 by Guest
Conkers in Gravy
Most Sunday papers have crazily early deadlines for anything other than major stories these days so no surprise speedway didn't get a look-in. The fact remains the sport has had more national coverage since I can't remember when. If you read or heard something you liked, let that media outlet know. Positive feedback is always welcome. That is important - but the GP didn't finish that late. I have a minor knowledge of the workings of press deadlines an d think that I understand what you are getting at. Sadly, I doubt if the event will get much attention in Monday's papers the other GP in Korea will far outweigh the Speedway GP. And there are some mega football and other sports events taking place today for the Nationals to give much to something that will by Monday morning be nearly 36 hours old and in their view in regard to a minor sport. Footballwise alone Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal are all in action on Sunday as one example of what speedway is up against. Triple.H.
Surely if whichever daily paper you choose to purchase mentions Tai on monday its worth firing off an email to the sports editor saying how good it is they have mentioned it. Same goes for TV and Radio stations it may just get their attention and lead to more media coverage.

BBC 2 Three hour of World Gymnastic Championship. Now two hours of a Super Rugby League Final. Sending email to sports editor sounds a good idea - my guess is that to a response from here if 20 are sent overall that's it - and spread around the National Press it's not going to be enough for a major impact. SAD but fact.
A ORLOV
Tai's win was mentioned on beakfast tv BBC1 this morning, and it showed part of heat five. It is also in the text section but under MOTOGP.

A bit of a difference in comparison. And it is detailed elsewhere on BBC text sites as the correct sport. Fancy them mixing speedway up with MOTOGP! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/motogp/ Edited October 6, 2013 by Guest
