guitar_art
I have just seen a piece about speedway on BBC Breakfast TV. As well as talking about Tai and his bid to be world champ they promised that "Tai would be on the settee if he wins."

spencebel
I saw it as well, It would be great to see Tai sitting on BBC Breakfast 's sofa next week. as the WC..
ABS
Nearly choked on my porridge when I heard it. Wonder if some of the great work the likes of BBC Cambridgeshire & West Midlands do with their local teams is filtering through? I doubt it personally, but you never know. The White Knight
Excellent - some more good Publicity. I just hope that Tai can get his SIX Points and we will get some more for our Sport. :approve:
SteveLyric2
Didn't Tai himself tweet a week or so ago that this was in his diary - assuming he becomes WC. Fingers crossed for him!
Conkers in Gravy
I was a bit shocked too, but credit where it's due. Maybe a lot of positive, polite messages from us supporters thanking BBC for their coverage will see more of the same in the future. Looking forward to seeing Tai next week (assuming he gets the six points).

Deano
Is this the BBC's retaliation to the croppers mentioning the sport last week!!
The White Knight
It IS refreshing though isn't it? :approve:
Cj69
Heard a great interview with tai on 5 live on way home from speedway tonight. Don't know who was interviewing.

The White Knight
Mentioned again on BBC1 this morning - Louise Minchen wished Tai good luck in his quest for the World Speedway Title. :approve:
Guest
Mentioned again on BBC1 this morning - Louise Minchen wished Tai good luck in his quest for the World Speedway Title. :approve: The programme was doing the same thing for gymnasts the other day. It's just a matter of featuring in some sporting event of quasi-major importance. On Monday it'll probably be table tennis. I don't think the brief flirtation with speedway by the BBC indicates they plan major coverage of the sport in 2014.
Sir Sidney
Also an article about Tai in the Times Sports section this morning. Great to see speedway mentioned.

Guest
Today's Daily Star has a good feature on Tai including three photos. No speedway in the 'Daily Mail'. I think they gave up years ago when they stopped sponsoring the National Trophy. Edited October 5, 2013 by Guest
RobMcCaffery
It's pretty unlikely he's going to need 6 points. Whether or not it's likely the fact is that needs at most six points to win the title, mathematically. I'm sure we all hope it's a lot less - I don't like the look of his second ride in heat 5, with messrs. Hampel, Miedzinski and Kasprzak on his inside.
