Edinburgh V Ipswich (plpf-gb) 4/10/13 @ 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

So tomorrow night could make or brake our season depending on the result we get tonight as we welcome our best friends Ipswich for which could be our last match of the season. The witches will be missing over half their team in Barker, Tungete, Lanham and Ellis and will replace them with Wethers , Klindt and possibly bates depending on his fitness and will use R/R for Lanham while the home boys will line up at full strength.

Line ups for Friday:

Edinburgh

  1. Craig Cook
  2. Max Fricke
  3. Claus Vissing
  4. Joe Tabaka
  5. Theo Pijper
  6. Liam Carr (G)
  7. Derek Sneddon

Ipswich

  1. Matthew Wethers (G)
  2. Cameron Heeps
  3. Nicolai Klindt (G)
  4. Leigh Lanham R/R
  5. Morten Risager
  6. Josh Bates (G)
  7. Ritchie Hawkins

What would happen if tonight gets "rained off" is there a cut off date?

Group A has got at least 2 weeks to run anyway so plenty of time - unless all the Witches have booked a holiday.

One has to presume that Ritchie Hawkins (with a wee fall in his last ride last night) won't make it over the border today.

Just guessing, mind......

And how right you are mr Hawkins won't be riding tonight due to injury! While theo will make a late decision to see if he fit enough to ride tonight or not.

More likely his heat 2 fall when he didn't clear the track when just perhaps he might have.

As the announcer commented - they are heavy things these speedway bikes!!

But there again he did manage to come off another twice so who can tell

I must say I was surprised that he did clear the track in 14 and ditto Schramm the bam in heat 7 given that Ippo were losing both races.

Sad that it becomes a surprise when riders don't just lie there till it's stopped.

As I stated in the other thread they are heavy when it is lying ontop of you!

Anyway on to tonights meeting you should get 60 against the Ipswich select team tonight. The Ipswich riders left looked like they were going through the motions last night, not surprising after what happened last weekend. Hope you get a better crowd than last night!

Looks like even cam has succumbed to the end of season glum

Cant blame given the circumstances.

He could easily have sat out many weeks himself with his wrist injury but battled through with mainly remarkable results. Few realise just how bad it has been at times.

Our rider of the year by a distance.

Wow, is that the same Worrall that was dropped by Newcastle, well done him.

Very good to see him rebuilding his confidence.

Im always pleased to see the younger Brits do well. Hope he will be back at this higher level next year and putting his career back on track.

Must mention Morten - how ironic and frustrating that he puts in probably his best away performance of the year even beating Cook just when it couldnt count for anything less!

Easy win tonight for the monarchs all performed steadily!

Klindt though was appalling considering he is supposed to be an EL rider was shutting of going into the corners and everything very poor!

Also was that really Steve under that helmet :o :o :o or was it Ritchie riding under his brothers name as i have never seen him perform like that before in my life!

On a different note nice to see William Lawson out in the second half doing some laps is this him lining up a return for next year? you never know but he would come in on a handy average mind you! :)
