robert72
It is time all these clashes on race days where stopped. In this day of computer technoligy, it must be very simple to see which rider races for which team on a said night and they still manage some how to manage to take 2 or more riders from a team. I will be a complete shambles with doyle and Madds missing if the standard of guest riders are anything to go by. That the management are bringing in. They also have now had high time to get 2 riders to bring into the team to replace the 2 that uped and left the team in the lurch. Not good enogh, signing on at the start of the year, then a quarter of the way through the season come to a desion that you no longer want to ride over here. They should have had some sort of penalty slapped on them for breaking a contract, but it seems that none of the speedway boards, can be bothered to do anything about this. There should be a rule in place that if they have signed to ride over here then they finish the season unless they have problems with family at home. It is to easy come easy go for them to get a place over here and then just up and leave without telling the team management what they are doing, saying that they are injured with problems that only need aq couple of weeks to overcome and then end up riding in thier home country. Later dropping the bomb that they will not be coming back. Come on get these new riders in the team so we can put a team back together. Then hopefully get back to winning again, because before all of these problems the team was actually getting things together quite well. Don't think we have won a race since then. Maybe they only signed short term contracts before the start of the Swedish league or maybe they both didn't like it at Leicester ? Strange that both left. Is it the riders at blame or the management ?

weatherwatcher
I doubt if we will ever hear the true story to this one, if a rider was brave enough to speak up it would probably affect his future with any club wanting to sign him. A club has every right to terminate a riders contract if they are missing from meetings or under performing. Just the same as in any work place. I don't agree with riders that are doing well being dropped though. There has got to be someway to sort out this whole graet problem, that just carries on with come backs to spoil the sport. It is in a poor enough state over here as it is without adding anything else to make it any worse. I was not just on about the Lions in the GP qualifiers, I am not sure if it not the Poole match can't even tell you who it is against but I think they are losing 7 riders between the 2 teams. How hard is that going to be to fill those riders places and still win races.
Big Al
Unfortunately you will now need guests on 21/06 v Swindon Plus one for Hougaard, maybe. I read DH bleating in the paper yesterday about the guests' performances on Saturday, and getting more "hungry" ones next time. Hungry!! They'll need to be frigging starving to want to show up and ride for him.

Leicester Lion
Poor judgment on Leicester's part to opt for PK at the ultimate gater's paradise. And to then slag him off in the press for his efforts is a disgrace.
Hamish McRaker
All of this negative talk of Leicester's Great Leader reminds me of a promoter of yesteryear, who shall remain nameless. He, too, created an awful shaped track where racing was over after the second bend of lap 1. Legend has it that he used to roll off his wife after about 7 seconds, to which she would always lie "oh, that was wonderful, darling". Being the recipient of repeated praise for such a brief performance, he naturally concluded that speedway supporters' enjoyment needs were also easily met. I wonder if there is a current-day promoter with a similar approach?
spanner47
I see sky have bitten the bullet and decided to take the cameras to Leicester V Eastbourne on the 14th July. Not too sure what Kelv and Nige will think of it, one thing for sure, I'll be watching it later with the remote ready at 1st lap 2nd bend.

I think they may have picked that meeting because bjarne pedersen's excellent gating skills, coupled with his almost unique lines around the bp bends, means he looks to me to be one of the only decent EL riders who look likely to be passed at bp! That's not to say anyone has ever passed him though! That would need clarifying..

That tractor just passed that other tractor"..........
Big Al
I bet cost a lot of money to persuade him to ride though. Looked as though PK wasn't confirmed until early afternoon before the match and there had been no advance naming of a guest for JD. So it could be that PK was playing hardball over money, knowing Leicester were in a tight spot, and held out for his own terms (maybe taking some advice from his brother!). Which he'd be perfectly entitled to do. DH spitting out his dummy in the press was possibly as much to do with PK's points score as feeling like he was done over financially! And when he says in future he'll get "hungrier" guests, he probably really means "cheaper". So I wonder who we'll see on Saturday 21st, then ?? lionking
This Swindon match on 21st is a complete joke. Looks like line ups will be as follows. LEICESTER 1. Guest for Jason Doyle (GP qualifier) 2. Simon Stead 3. Guest for Mads Korniliussen (GP qualifier) 4. Lasse Bjerre 5. R/R 6. Max Clegg 7. Josh Bates SWINDON 1. Guest for Peter Kildemand (GP qualifier) 2. Guest for Dakota North ( injured) 3. Guest for Nick Morris ( riding for Somerset) 4. Simon Gustafsson 5. R/R for Troy Batchelor (GP qualifier) 6. Nathan Greaves 7. Steve Worrall People are not going to pay to watch what is a Swindon side of 3 guests , R/R & Simon Gustafsson . Best thing DH can do is call this meeting off it will be financial suicide if he runs it with these sides.
