Leicester 2014 . Elite

Recommended Posts

KK likes the Leicster track after watching him ride there you would have thought it was his home track, think the longer straights where more like the Polish tracks. If they get him he will be a good addition to the Lions team.

I also hope that which ever 2 NL lads that the Lions get they will get as much help from the top riders to find the correct lines to take a from them a vast experiance on machine set up. I don't think you will really see that much from them until quarter way through the season. When they get used to riding at this higher level, but with help from the rest of the team members they should only improve as time goes on. Just lets hope that they get all the help they need from older riders and management. Not only at Leicseter but at all the EL tracks.

Can't wait to see the anouncement of the team for next year. I think KK will be No1 not sure about anybody else. It all depends who gets to the guys first and then it still boils down to who has the most pennies and the best carrot to dangle.

Sure something should be on the Lions website about the team in a few weeks. Can't wait to long or we will be using 7 NL league riders. Haha.

Can't wait for next season to start. It will be very interesting then to see how the track rides. As you may have gathered I am not a person that just sees speedway from an angle of riders ovwertaking each other to make the sport exiting. I like to see speedway as what it is with a team and that is team riding. That is the skill yhen of the riders if they can get in front then the leading 2 are there to stop the opposing side from getting past them.

That is what the sport is all about. I think that it much more interesting with all 4 riders hell bent on winning and a hard faught race than a long drawn out line, where x has overtaken a couple of times and then gets pipped at the post.

I go to watch the skills of the riders, we all have our views on what entertains.

Can't wait to see what unfolds.

Glad we made the EL leauge and pray that we can stay there. A lot has been done at Leicster in 3 years and a lot before then to make it happen. Glad to see that pheonix managed to rise again.

It is a nice clean stadium and it is well placed iwith all the road connections. Hopefully even more will be done to make it one of the top stadiums in the country.

Thanks to all those that have given the Lions a great welcome on here.

where have you seen this team riding ? I assume that will be at Bp and what you call team riding is actually when 2 riders from the same team make the gate and stay In 1st and 2nd for the whole race. I would like to hear more about what has been done in the last 3 years if you have time

His home track might suit him, however his tendency to have several off key meetings and commitment issues have blighted his times in the EL for the past few seasons.

That is the idea of the game make the gate in 1st and 2nd and be a clever enough rider to be able to keep your places that is team riding.

I 3 years the Leicster stadium has been built from nothing. To a stadium that is now deemed to be good enough to go into the EL; league. A lot of work went into the stadium not just building it but the work spent the previous 10 years or so before working out all the planning etc with the local councils and evrything else that went on behind the scenes.

We should all be proud of what they did to bring speedway back to the City of Leicseter. We had been so long without it and it was a sad loss not only to the City but also to the sport. So even the fact in the economical climat as it is now it was a great achivement to even contemplate putting money into re-opening a speedway track. I for one are glad to see the return of a sport the I love to be brought back to the city of Liecster and from what I see of quite a lot of Lions fans the same came be said of those.

As most people are saying on forums on here noone makes anyone go to watch speedway I for one am only to pleased to go and not to have to travel the extra miles to see the sport.

Ok there are better stadiums around then the Lions but they are up there with some of the best.

I just hope that they manage to keep going this time around so I can continue to watch a sport that I have followed for many years, a sport that is one of skill and of 2 riders who ride for the team and go out to win.

Great to see that they have got what they have been after since they day they opened and that is to be back in the top flight of speedway.

I love my speedway & I love my Lions....but I just feel like I can't be bothered now. I would gladly swap our "Elite" league place with Peterborough & have us staying in the premier league. I hope I'm proved wrong.

worry not. you will be proved wrong :t:

You will have to keep an eye out for any expansion in European Championship meetings, also on Saturdays.

I have it on good authority that Mr Hemsley is going to create an extra, eigth day in the week to solve the clash problems.

So you do think gate and go speedway is team riding , Leicester have been allowed back in to make the numbers up not because of their stadium or any other reason , apart from some flagpoles advertising Jordan road planing it's the same stadium they had when their application was turned down last time

Or Kenneth Bjerre please. :) Don't really want him signing for Coventry as he always goes missing at play-off time and Bees are going to be in the play-offs next season aren't they?

Ask yourself why they were turned down last season? Not due to the stadium !! Due to other promoters not wanting them in, did not want to share their sky money with another team !! Did not want a local club near them that might affect their own attendances!! Correct me if I am wrong please as I would be interested to hear your understanding of why they did not get in last time?? Edited by BTFC LION

Rick Frost objection is why they didn't get in last time. Maybe Leicester are the reason Peterborough aren't here any more. To be honest, if that was his attitude towards one track's ambitions, then we are better off with Leicester in.

That was the official line!! But it was stated very publicly what really happened!!

Just a passing thought after reading a couple of other team building threads....

Will Glyn be allowed to be team manager and track curator???

If not, what about Phil Morris as manager, Glyn to still do track, Leicester would give Phil Morris and Glyn easy access to a track, 7 days a week for youth/rider training, and as a bonus, we may get Danny King????

Thoughts Folks?????
