King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Only one point needed to secure top spot and then to pick their opponents for the semis... Who will it be?

Whoever finishes top (KL or Poole) will surely pick Coventry.

If Poole finish top I'll be amazed if they don't pick King's Lynn.

With Robins and Bees contesting the other semi on the same night, decent guests will be nigh on impossible to come by and Lynn could end up with Nicholls covering Iversen.

Nicholls has just hit some real form the last week or so !! With Porsing now seemingly back to the level he was at mid season and a fit lewis kerr kings lynn way more stronger than the bees !!

And finally I have to take your word for the gate for the pokc semi last year but without the detailed survey then it has to be treated with caution.

As per normal, you don't like it when you're shown up to be wrong.

Here's a post from the meeting thread....

It was so good to see a huge crowd like that at Monnmore, I got there about 6.40pm and all the roads were packed, had to park right down the bottom of Hickman Avenue. Walked up to the turnstiles and the queue was only through to the overspill carpark . Its great for the sport to see crowds like that, so many Brummies fans and a great atmosphere.

Is that meant to add to the debate?

What do you mean when you say "So we are back to saying it is a theory"?

It is accepted that the crowds are okay, but nothing special, for the pokc semi finals and good for the pokc final, why mention that again? All good cup competitions with a cherished prize have relatively good crowds for the semi finals and finals, what point are you trying to make that I haven't already made?

How much do sky give speedway? Do you know the figures, have you seen a 'detailed survey' or is it 'nothing more than guesswork'? This isn't relevant to the debate but how long has speedway been in its present form?

Does everything that works in another country or sport work for speedway in this country? Again, where is your 'detailed survey'?

This isn't about liking or disliking something it is about what the pokc sycophants continue to claim with no foundation or 'detailed survey' if you like.

Please don't tell me you are in the 'you must support IS because you are a Muslim' camp? Just because the pokc has not 'brought fans in' doesn't mean getting rid will 'bring fans in' does it? To think it and then post it is stupid isn't it? It's the pokc sycophants fall back response. Ah, I've just re-read the last sentence of your first paragraph so you don't need to answer that question, lol!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your 'detailed survey' proving your theories and I've not seen the post asking the pokc sycophants for their 'detailed survey' either which is a surprise as this particular debate started due to the unfounded claim that it 'brings the fans in'.

Double standards, now what's the word that describes that particular human trait?

Hypocrite?

No, you've missed the point again!

The point is..........

The end of season meetings between top, title chasing, teams have been rendered meaningless by the pokc. For example, the Coventry v Poole meeting was sparsely attended yet had that been Poole's penultimate league meeting and a 4 point win would give them a good chance of the title it would have seen a much bigger gate. The same can be said for several other meetings (see the list)

All cup comp don't have big crowds for finals hence why the ko is not with us anymore ...Ask yourself why Poland Sweden and the uk still have the play offs ..why would they keep them if they were not working

What do you mean when you say "So we are back to saying it is a theory"?

You said in your previous post "I have given my theory of why I think the opposite " . I was simply picking up on that. Its surely not that difficult to follow.

I will spell it out again as succinctly as I can.:

1. You have put forward something that in your own words is a theory.

2. A theory is something that cannot be proven. If it could be proven it wouldn't be a theory . It would be a fact.

3. Therefore you have put forward a point of view i.e a theory which is fair comment but if people are not persuaded that doesn't make them stupid or sycophants.

4. I am not saying you are wrong. I am saying that if you are right, then then not only the Elite League but also the Premier League, the Polish League, the Swedish League, and a whole range of other sports have got it wrong. That doesn't mean that you are wrong. you might be right, but the balance of opinion amongst many people who run different sports in different countries is against you..

As far as theory is concerned I don't think anything can usefully be added to what has already been said without going round in circles again. time to move on and let Kings Lynn Stars have their thread back. You may wish to re-visit the topic when someone starts a Belle Vue 2015 thread.

My only comment on the debate.

It's a damn site harder to manipulate a season long league than it is a play off consisting of a maximum of 4 meetings for the winners.

Now can you all go play elsewhere and let this get back on to the subject in the thread title.

Thank you very kindly.

I asked the question because the way you put it "so we are back to saying it is a theory" suggested to me that you thought I'd been saying it was something other than a theory and had then gone back to saying it is a theory. Clearly you didn't mean that.

Clearly
