King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Indeed it did, which proved just one meeting too far. Plus the Eagles were bloody good at home that year.

Plus Screen pulled a fast one and the ref (Chris Gay?) fell for it.... :nono:

Peter Nahlin, who got injured and was replaced by Jon Cook. Didn't really make too much difference in the end, the league had been lost earlier the season through too many away defeats.

Oh right yes! The only good thing about that was having John Cook as a Star - awesome rider :)

I've obviously mixed 2000 & 2001 together as I thought Nahlin came in for Karlsson who broke his leg on turn 1 (the most sickening noise I'd ever heard that crash) then Nahlin broke his leg (I think) John Cook came in for him and Tomasz Bajerski (remember him) came in for someone else

Parker was dropped in 2000 for Peter Nahlin who himself got injured in his first meeting when he crashed with Nigel Sadler so was replace by John Cook. When Karlson broke his leg in 2001 he was replaced by Joachim Kugelmann - the first signs Waggy had run out of money and the first of his foreign rider merry go round.

Oh yes, Joachim Kugelmann. The uncontrollable out of control German. Legend

Hmmmmm I thought PK was replaced by Ronni Pedersen?

I thought Pedersen replaced Bajerski and finished the season with us. Good game this. 'Who's Got The Sh!ytest Memory'. I'm winning hands down here

Lynn started 2001 with Jason Crump, Nicki Pedersen,Peter Karlsson, Niklas Klingberg, Tom P. Madsen, Freddie Eriksson and Ross Brady. Brady quit early on and you used guests. After PK was injured you replaced PK and Brady with Kugelmann and Tomasz Bajerski before eventually replace Bajerski (whats the latest with him after he run off to America after an insurance scam?!) with Ronni Pedersen.

Call yourself Kings Lynn fans :P

I'm pretty sure SCB is right. Kugelmann definitely replaced PK initially, but he was signed on the basis of his SWC form, which he never replicated, and was replaced later in the season by perhaps Pedersen, who was immense.

Although I seem to remember NKI being signed for a few matches in 2001 aswell possibly after Bajerski. It was like a new rider each week. Quite bizarre. Then the following year I saw the most remarkable sight of Waggy electing to put Ulamek on a GDTS (15m).

You omitted NKI - he was definitely used right at the end of the season... maybe replacing RonniP? Otherwise thx for the memory jog :)

He replaced Kugelmann.for a couple of meeting :D

I think Lee Redmond had a few meetings in place of Ross Brady too, I missed that out earlier. So technically Bajerski replaced him.

I don't think it's anything to do with being a fan - it's called fading memory, like wot I got!! We are not all as young as you Shawn!!

I was never a Waggy lover, and didn't agree with much that he done. Use to pick and choose my meeting then, depending on who they were riding against. Always enjoyed watching Crumpy though and even in those time Nicky P was quite forceful. Was not surprised at Waggy's demise. I think a lot of fans turned away during that period......
