King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Good to hear Team Lewis is back on track, Anyone know if Porsing rode at the weekend? Will he be ready to ride Wednesday or are we using a guest.

Edit: Just read on Twitter, Porsing scored a 15pts max:: https://twitter.com/NicklasPorsing.

Seems it's all systems go again.

Without going through posts here and elsewhere, can someone explain how Kings Lynn have guests for Niklas Porsing at Wolverhampton (June 23) and at home to Eastbourne (June 26) when he is riding in Denmark on June 25 ?

Failed a fitness test but unlike most foreign riders he actually was at the Eastbourne meeting and proved his case to the meeting officials.

I believe I am correct in saying he had a crash and was injured in Denmark Friday 20th June. Like you say, we covered his absence with a guest at Wolves on the Monday, and it was hoped he was going to be back and ride in Denmark on the Wed (25/06/14). Unfortunately the injured knee was causing massive problems and he had to withdraw from the meeting, hence a guest was booked again for Thurs (26/06/14) against Eastbourne. Although not riding, he was present at that meeting and was even involved with the team activities. even done an interview to inform the supporters how he felt.......... Why, has Lynn done wrong with that then.....!!!!!

Just need to get Kenny back to full speed now.

Not too worried about Kenneth, After the accident he had with Jason Dolye , it appears he is very apprehensive of other riders, and who can blame him. When he gets out in front he goes very quick, which shows he has lost none of his ability. As time goes by and he gets his confidence back , Kenneth will be alright...... In the meantime he'll keep scoring 6's and 7's which is good...

I fear he has had one knock too many, since his latest injury he shuts off whenever he finds himself on the outside of anyone. I'd love to go through the whole season without a change but if he continues with the poor away scores and body language there might come a time to consider one if somebody comes available.

Looking at Bjerre's scores for the season so far he has only managed double figures on very few occasions since April. He is very much a weak link at present but the rest of the team are doing so well that it is not so noticeable. Injuries obviously affect a rider's confidence but he needs to get sorted very quickly. If he is taking on too much as has been mentioned then he needs help. A suitable replacement now is very unlikely so come on Rob - get him going.

I'm setting myself up for a fall here but I'd quite like to see Schlein and Bjerre swap positions for a few meetings. It would encourage both Schlein's current form and hopefully take the heat off Bjerre whilst he rediscovers his form

I agree, that would be a good idea! And they also need to get better replacements for Rose when he is not fit! But come to the end of the season I'm sure that we can all peek at the right time and win the league.

You're probably right, these accidents affect people differently. Going back a couple of years at the EESG, it was a nasty pile up he had and incurred a really bad break . He took a long time to get over that, physically and mentally. but he came through it and was getting back to the Kenneth of old. He had another accident prior to the leg break, but he seems to go from one injury to another.

What make it hard to justify and be mentally positive, it that it is always some else who causes the accident and he was unfortunate to be involved and normally come off worse. When the accident is your fault you can control your feelings and make adjustments to your riding style to address any doubts you may hinder inside. But you cant do that when your always at the mercy of other riders and their actions.. His latest one was caused when he was unmercifully dumped into the first corner by Jason Dolye. You cant wonder the demons he has in his head. He's had a bad couple years.

It's nice to see him gate and go. It shows he has lost none of his riding ability. But his apprehension at the moment is there for all to see. Kenneth recuperation will take some time and the last thing he wants to hear is the club thinking about a replacement. I hope Rob Lyon will persevere with Kenneth and I have no doubts his faith will eventually be repaid in full.

PS. After all, the league is of no importance, it only represents a qualification into a 4 team Knockout at the end of the season, and hopefully his true form will have returned by then.... :t:

If think you've nailed it. Kenneth Bjerre has lost confidence in his fellow compatriots rather than his own ability. It shows in his GP performances to. In front uncatchable but behind frightened. There has been times where he's been side by side and just turns the power off in the turns.

If he doesn't get injured anymore this season he will turn it around I'm sure.

We lose two away meetings and there a call for team changes we drop Kenneth we will regret it - support the team through thick and thin .

Not really, he has been below par since he came back from injury. I don't want him out but on such things can titles be won and lost.

Correct, I would love to stick with our initial 1-7 but Elite League winner's has never been done before with the season opening lineups. That surely tells us something.

Kenneth on his day and at his best can beat anyone in the world but can we risk him getting his mojo and confidence back by September? If he is still backing out of tight spots come the Play Offs that puts an awful lot of pressure on the younger lads and may not be enough if we end up facing a quality side like Poole who have been there and done it before.

IF a decent option became available towards the end of the season eg Emil, Freddie, Larsen etc we'd be daft not to at least consider it. I hope it doesn't come to that though and he can rediscover his best form.
