King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Well, apart from Lewis's unfortunate E/F this went very much to plan. Thorough enjoyed the speedway, on a lovely afternoon. Nobody was going to break a leg, but was some decent races. Most of the riders on show did perform in some of their heats, if not in all of them. Neils and Rory looked sharp, and Kenneth got better the more he rode. One or two failed to perform and that must be a worry for their teams. but the man of the day was Madssssssss

To complete a memorable day, enjoyed Steak and Chip tea with the wife, watching Liverpool beat the Manc. Like I had previously said I expected them to win, but they battered them. The fact it was only 3, don't sound that bad, but it could have been far more embarrassing.

Roll on Wednesday...

Haha loved it, man utd looked like they were in a lower league they were that bad. Completely outplayed and out classed by Liverpool. Great to do the double over them :)

Looking at the fixture list for this season, We at Lynn, as with Poole, are the last of the teams to get started, obviously due to the SGP in New Zealand.

By the 9th of April when we play our first match, some teams will be well on their way, some having had 4 or more matches already. But then it's catch-up time with us having 4 matches in eight days. Its all well and good this retirement lark having plenty of time to travel to these far away places, but it sure puts a strain on other financial implications.

I feel we need a good start to the campaign to generate confidence within the team. We should be more then able to hold our own at the Norfolk Arena, and also away to teams like Coventry and Wolves, so don't really want to miss what should be exciting close matches. We always go well at Brandon, and hoping, with Freddie missing, Wolves will be much easier than in the past.

I always have high hopes this time of the year. Just hope the weather stays kind.........

Think it more waiting for young Robert Lamberts birthday as he is not eligible to ride for us yet as he's too young , rather than SGP (although that doesn't help!)

I'm sure you'll agree that Lynn would rather they rode with Niels and Kenneth then without them.

I agree with kelvinht,I think we need to wait for Lamberts birthday before we compete in the EL.

It's not obviously because of the GP in New Zealand, because if that was the case surely Belle Vue,Coventry,Swindon and Wolverhampton wouldn't have any EL matches before the GP aswell. These teams have GP riders in them and they are all competing in the EL before the first GP.

I like the article in this weeks SS about Lynn's team, and understand what Rob Lyon says about local riders. This reminds me of how it use to be . Using local based riders always brought added supporters to the meeting, as local people wanting to see their local riders do well. Apart from Rory all the rest, live in close proximity to Lynn.

Like Rob said, this enables supporters to relate with the riders, and that is something that's been missing for a long time...

This could be a big factor for increasing the crowds, Lets hope it all bears well for a good season.....

In all Sports fans do love 'one of their own' It is far easier to relate to a local lad, and hope he makes good. The team members who are just guns for hire are much harder to take to. This is the same in all Sports. The Norwich City Fans are loving the 2 Young Murphy boys from Downham, who have come through the ranks at Colney, than a lot of the Players from abroad who they know will only be at the Club until relegation comes ( which ever season that is). They then move on to the next club that offers the best terms. Its the same in Speedway. Hopefully Kerr, Rose and Lambert can be seen at Saddlebow for many years to come.

Lynn need to find a replacement for Schlein before his average drops too much, He's currently at 6.84 and there are tons of options to replace the under-performing Aussie.

Michael Jepsen Jensen - 6.54 and would guarantee Lynn a Top 2 finish, A tantalizing prospect If he forms a trio with danish counterparts Iversen and Bjerre.

Greg Walasek - 6.24 and again would be a powerful 3rd heat-leader, A sensational rider and would fly around the Norfolk Arena

1. Iversen

2. Porsing

3. Jepsen Jensen

4. Lambert

5. Bjerre

How scary does that look?

The clown spoils this forum with the bile they post & it's so hard at times to just ignore it so can someone please tell me how I block them?.

it made my life much easier CR

Top right under your name a box will open with ignore preferences.

Just type its (many) names in and there posts will be hidden.

You will still see they have posted but thankfully you dont have to read them.

Thats how i find the likes of the multi poster, Internetman/PooleQuay and similar foul mouthed posters much more tolerable. :t:
