King's Lynn Stars 2014

Recommended Posts

Nonsense, Billy Sanders was just 16 when he first rode Div 1 for Ipswich. Talent will always shine through, especially in a watered down league..

Blimey the pressure mounts now your expecting him to be as good as billy sanders! Obviously I really hope he is as good as you seem to think he has alot to live up to and I seem to remember similar being said about bridger. Some have said its his choice but he may be getting pushed and advised Edited by foreverblue

Best 5, with the best reserves, best team so far. Fair play, just hope Lynn avoid injuries this season to show the potential. Be good to see Lambert full time, just hope don't follow Bridger, as didn't he go straight into it when 16? Stalled a bit since then, still fans cant be that stupid to expect big things straight away, beat the reserves and nick a couple of points here and there, job done and next season be on a bargain average, good signing for 2 seasons in principal.

But its the lads choice FB.

Lambert chose not to be part of the draft, so the EL IS going to help him.

In the world I work in, aged 15, you don't have an informed choice until you are 18!

Good team but alot depends on how lambert and porsing progress but their reserves are probably the best in the league so thats a plus for them.

I remain unconvinced the second strings will be as important as before. Low averaged second strings often offer the possibility of scoring high from reserve. Not next year. Most second strings will be better than the reserves. Not sure being a lot better actually helps much unless they are a match for opposition heat leaders.

This is exactly how I'd build a 2014 team.

The key for me will be how NKI, Rory and Kenneth help the youngsters in the team both on and off track. With the right team work and support we will be one of the teams to beat..

That's what I thought about your 2013 team but injuries stopped that. Fingers crossed you have more luck this season.

Just like this time last year Kings Lynn looked good on paper but couldn't cut it when it mattered. I have a feeling of deja vu here.

They are relying on a 16 year old in the 1-5 plus Porsing to come good. Just don't think that they will do it in year one and have to rely heavily on their top 3 to keep them in it. And we all know Bjerre and playoffs don't mix.

Certainly have a chance of challenging for a playoff berth but might find the going tough when it matters.

Porsing is a quality rider he's far far better than his average I saw enough of him last season to no he's going to be very good - this is a very good side more than happy with the line up not making any predictions after last season injury after injury season . Time will tell if Buster and Rob have got this team right .

Have to say I prefer this analysis to quite a few as some people seem to think we have the league won already which is ridiculous. As you say the side named tonight has a great chance of getting into the Play Offs if we have better luck than last year.

However to say the side that started last season 'couldn't cut it' is quite inaccurate as three riders were no longer in the side at the end and two others had had their seasons continually interrupted by injury. I certainly think we didn't replace injured/out of form riders particularly well or quickly enough for whatever reason but the original septet was decimated by injury after injury and poor form so never really got in the position to 'cut it when it mattered'.

The only thing that stopped them from "cutting it" was injuries.

Think this side will take time to get going but will improve as the season goes on. Play off certs for me, the best top 5 with the 2nd best reserve pairing.

why the best top five Schlein has still to prove he is a heat leader Lambert could be rubbish or brilliant Porsing un proven good side but I wouldn't go overboard .I think there is going to be some good racing in the elite next season

I think we should take notice of what Shovy has to say. If anyone knows about a team not being able to cut it when it matters he is firmly in the know. Queens of the Chokers.

Hadnt noticed us choking beaten by a better team a couple of times, bjerre knows all about choking! We have been in the play offs nearly every year not many teams have a record like that.

This team should make the play offs but cant see lambert or porsing beating grajzoneck who will be poole's 5th rider

Sounds like Porsing was wanted by most clubs in the EL. Think we are fortunate to have held on to him.

Bit of a shame that Kozza coudn't be fitted in but I'm sure he'll get fixed up elsewhere and I'm more than happy with the seven named.

That has been cut and pasted for future use! Talk about setting yourself up for a fall :D

But if it was Ward holder and Janowski that wouldn't be too top heavy also?

You have a valid point regards Bjerre and the play offs tho.

Maybe they will replace him with Hancock in September ;-)
